Thought I'd post some of the pics I took on my phone from a great family trip to Winthrop. I have more on my dSLR, but I'm always really slow to get these uploaded.

Slate Peak at the top of Hart's pass. So high up that it dropped over 30 degrees. Shorts in the valley, snowing at the top! We couldn't go up the lookout tower because of the ice. If you didn't watch out, icicles would dro and gore your head!

You're doing it?!?! I'll for sure do it next year. Did Rugged Maniac and Warrior Dash this year, a little too easy for me. There's one call Race the Reaper that's held here in Oregon that looks pretty fun that I want to do next year. I'm looking for more of a physical challenge that doesn't involve jumping over a little fire

    EDIT
    Have fun dude!

Hahaha, yeah, the fire at the end is kinda lame. You'd have to fall down on the flames to actually hurt yourself:)

I did the tough Mudder for the second year in a row. Seattle doesn't seem to have fire obstacles in TM. Lots of running. I think I heard that this years course was a little over 11 miles.

The course this year had a lot of open tracks that didn't give clear direction as to which way to go in several places. On top of that, it had people running in 2 directions for different parts of the course in these poorly marked areas. Parking was easier this year though. Last year it took 20 min to make it from the street to parking. This year, less than 5.

The arctic enema didn't seem as cold, and there seemed to be a lot less ice. The weather was sunny. TM had clif shot blocks out about half way through the course, which I quickly ate 9 of. I think a lot of people come into this not having enough electrolytes in their system, and even with them, they are sweated out.

Overall though, I had a good time, but it took me longer to complete than last year.

Yeah, it seems like organization is key! That Oregon Warrior Dash was a joke...the traffic was a nightmare, the whole thing was just a mess. I've gotta run Tough Mudder one of these days. Either that or just give up and start smoking again:)

Sucks about the poor direction/organization! Did you have fun atleast??

What wave did you do? I did the 4:30 wave..traffic out wasn't that bad. I kind of wish I did it a bit earlier..I'm sure I missed some fun stuff at the party area.

I did have fun. Some parts of the course this year were slick, and viscous, like muddy clay. The obstacles seemed to be arranged this year to put more of the arm based obstacles toward the front or middle, and have a lot more running toward the end. Arctic enema wasn't as cold as I remember or expected it to be, and it looked like they didn't have all that much ice in it. Some people were complaining about the water being cold in other obstacles. The monkey rings this year were slick and space apart more. I normally can hit those without slipping off, but by the third one, I was in the water. The monkey bars seemed to be a steeper incline and decline than last year. I started skipping bars on the decline and slipped off right at the last one I would need before landing, and almost did a faceplant on the deck. It took me 2 tries before making it over Everest, the quarter pipe. Going through electroshop therapy, I ran through arms spread screaming BEER. I almost went down with the first shock that hit me, but didn't quite fall, then kept going through the rest.

In case you see pics from others, my number this year was 74257.

Yeah, I was pretty pissed when I found that out too.

And 94.7 is now for pansy ass hipsters. It used to be a pretty good alternative station playing ALL music.

I will mount the stock tires on my truck and do brake stand burn outs until they pop, and post a youtube vid of it in your honor if you donate them to me. It's hard to sell stock stuff for those prices. I gave mine away for free.
