Won't need the 7th injector unless i move to VA, or just want to be safe with my A/F Ratio.

I was reading the thread on CT, to bad he hasn't finished it.

300 HP would be decent, but i think i want a good torque gain.

you would see a big torque increase as well. But you'd only get that high with the URD 7th injector and 2.2 or 2.1 pulley wheel.

your in CA so im assuming around 100-2000' elevation so i bet you'll need the 7th injector to stop pinging anyways.

cool, i was thinking i'd go with a smaller pulley, and the 7th injector to be on the safe side.

    Elevation is ~450 ft
    Yeah

Yea if you take all the by passes..go look at Spoonmans build..he just ran it. They did Big Sluice..we are doing that.

so? they don't like snow wheelign??

plan on the 7th injector then. It'll be a MUST for the smaller pulley and at your elevation, mostly likely needed anyways.

Best place? Well..i'll assume you want all new parts and thats how you roll generally. So, the dealer..so..3 grand for the SC or more and then URD is the only place for the 7th injector..so another grand.

if you are okay with a used SC you can find em for like 1000-2500 often with the 7th injector kit.

that said, im gonna say the same thing i told Mike..please let me wire it for you..unless you have gotten very good with a soldering iron to spice into your ECU harness haha

Best way is to do both really..why im doing 4.88s for 35s. probably boost later or engine swap...okay..im going to engine swap if i can..just cause..haha

KOH would be pretty bad ass i agree..

career searching?? i can't for the love of me see you building a KOH rig..haha

    Will header/exhaust help when i get a S/C with a small pulley?

    $2700 for the S/C
    $900 for the 7th injector
    $100 for the smaller pulley
    = $3700
Cheaper then a turbo or engine swap, and it's plug and play (i think)

i dont think they, especially johnny will be too keen on snow wheeling.

the one time I tried to take johnny off road was when I did this, and got stuck 50 feet off the road

yea all plug and play for the most part. Stil have to install the 190lph fuel pump in the tank, and wire in the URD FCM piggy back.

TRD did make a 7th injector kit actually. But i think they stopped, very rare to find, and the URD one works better anyways is the general consensus.

Headers and exhaust will help a bit. But just an fyi if you have a boost gauge you'll notice a boost drop..but really, the SC is FLOWing more air at a lower pressure since you opened up the exhaust so pressure was being relieved. So you'll gain a bit a power but you'll see a drop in psi. But thats okay. Psi is a relative measurement and usually has nothing to do with hp.

in short, yes it'll help. But HUGELY. So not really needed. But does add up. Will change the sound a lot thats for sure.

way to ruin it for him..and now me..haha

yea LC engineering used to sell fully built short blocks..omg they were sick. All forged internals, head work, MHG, cams, valves..really for serious boosting. the 5vz is actually an awesome plateform for a motor. The stroke and bore are almost "perfect" so in theory you could make it rev very high and put out serious power. Our stock ECUs limit us a lot so getting stand alone would be the way to go..

sadly LCE doesnt sell it anymore..was like a 10-12 grand motor though..haha

Thanks for the info Monte, You're making it harder for me to put off the S/C for ~2 years.

I have another question, i noticed this
    [IMG]
the other day, no noticeable drop in the coolant resi and i haven't seen any fluid sitting there, thoughts?

You need to replace the batteries in your scientific calc.

    255/85-16 is 10.03" wide. 1"=25.4 mm not 24.5. :)

Best price (new) for a Sc I've seen $2699 and the 7th kit is $895

Ill keep my eyes open and let ya know when i see one that looks good if ya want. They pop up time to time.

And that makes sense. I can see you doing something with cars. Maybe..idk..haha i always envisioned the guys that engineer for offroading teams to be get your hands dirty wrenching kinda guys..and..you aren't..haha i always figured you would be more of a computer testing thinking designer guy for like the system but someone else would build and test it. But i have no idea really. I feel your pain..i have no idea what im going to do now with my degree..might not even end up in audio..

hmm..looks like some coolant came out some how. Check the hose right there and make sure its not spliting and that the clamp isn't coming loose.

squeeze the tube with your hand to see if its starting to split from age at all too.

and yea man. The SC is a good way to go for more power and reliability. Plus its pretty much bolt on. hard to beat it really.
