Dude, lol! You should see my tan line, I'm embarrassed to wear my baby gap shirts until I hit the beds for a month or two.

See you can't get a lat spread and triceps pose.

Don't want to crash a thread guys but I need some opinions. I'm 21 around 5' 10 and 168lbs. I haven't worked out in 3 years. Never really gained any weight but in the last few months I've gone up a belt-loop or 2 (around a 33") and decided it was time to do something. I joined a gym and have started going 4 days a week. I bought some protein and have been taking that post-workout and I bought some creatine monohydrate yesterday that I was going to start preloading with 15 grams a day.

I like the idea of a push/pull type workout doing chest and triceps one day and then back and biceps the next with shoulders worked in there somewhere. I haven't figured out the best way to work legs into that but I was thinking I could do the same type of thing with the push and pull type exercises. And I need a good abdominal plan too.

I don't want to go crazy with supplementing and honestly don't have the money to anyway but I've been reading about it. All the stimulants and everything else they put into pre-workouts kind of scared me away from them. It seems like creatines been around a while and is considered pretty safe which is why i bought it.

What would you guys recommend I do? I want to stay with the creatine to help me see results quicker so I won't be discouraged from trying to make this change. I'm trying to kick the soda habit and cure my sweet tooth while I'm at this. I need a good workout plan I can stick to and maybe some advice about a safe, fairly inexpensive fat burner to get rid of some bodyfat. I was thinking I could wait a few months to try something like that and focus on strength and my overall diet right now.

Any and all help is appreciated guys.

Taking a supp won't help with quicker results...

...but definitely cutting the soda, and eating more greens with protein and putting yourself on a strict cardio/metabolic conditioning program will. A healthy diet with a metabolic conditioning cardio type workouts is the best fat burner on the market.

No need to pre load the creatine either, you only about 5 grams a day.

Cut the soda, and junk food from your diet. Especially anything with high fructose corn syrup. Eating healthy will get you results faster than any supplement

I have problems getting a lat spread :( But here is a shitty back photo. My workout I follow right now is Jim wendlers 5-3-1. Only 2nd week in. I hope to see good progress, I feel like I'm trying harder at the gym. With the colderish weather I am eating a bit more too.

Lean more forward, arms out at a 90 like you and act like you're doing a pull up.

    1. If you're wanting to lose belly fat, creatine is a bad idea. It makes you hold water...a lot of water.

    2. You don't need fancy supplements. I take creatine and protein and SOMETIMES a Pre-workout, but usually coffee gets the job done.

    3. Look at Doug's 4 Day Split Workout (http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/dougs-4-day-split-workout.html) It hits all your body parts in 4 days. Abs aren't something you need to focus a lot on, as they're a very small muscle group and aren't going to get big w/o steroids anyway. Abs show by having low body fat.

    4. You can make legs their own day. Ex:
    Mon: chest/tri
    Tues: back/bi
    Thurs: shoulders
    Fri: legs

    5. Fat burners are b/s. The best fat burners are a clean diet and maybe some green tea

    6. Throw some cardio in there if you wanna lose some fat. Don't over do it though. Too much cardio burns muscle. I'd say a 20-30 mins after each workout, meduim to meduim-high intensity...no fucking marathons or anything lol

I like it. I usually do 12, 10, 8,6 or the opposite and it works for me. Pretty cool graph!

2 leg days in one week....you're asking for it, man....living on the edge

Looking good. Looks like you need more food in your diet though haha jk man.

This shit ryte here^^^ spot on...although I know nothing about cardio b/c I'm on a 365 day a year bulk haha. Ectomorph problems

so i have come to the realization that i need to take a break from the weights for a few weeks. i haven't had a good workout for a month or so, my elbows are both messed, my groin seems messed and my shoulder is even bothering me now, probably from overcompensating for me elbows. anyway, i can't sit around doing nothing, guess i'll be doing mainly cardio. do any of you know of some kind of workout that is a little easier on the body? resistance training with those big elastic bands or something?

x2 on pool time. I've read that it is an excellent recovery workout since it gets the blood flowing to remove any lactic acid build up, it's full body, and there practically isn't any resistance to injury yourself.

Just remember to stretch before and after swimming, especially after.
