Before spending any money on you truck, find a junk yard with a totaled 4wd, take the tranny, transfer case and front diff.

    Exactly. That was strong!

Ooh that's right. Hm. Lady would have my nuts in a vise though. I promised her new headlights and other things for her RSX.

It would be worth it though...

Sorry Rich but that's downright funny.

I have some options on the table, one of which is keeping this truck the way it is and buying a 4x4. Another is a 4x4 swap. And last but equally plausible is staying PreRunner and rocking the shit out of it. It did pretty damn well this past weekend IMHO. I'm impressed.

for me i think im going to go with either option 1 or 3. the 4x4 swap seems expensive and time consuming. i remember talking to colin about how a locked rear went pretty much anywhere his truck went and for me the 4x4 swap just wouldnt really be worth. right now im thinking lock the rear and buy a winch...or 2 LOL

If you sell all of your heels, im sure youd have a sizable down payment for a 4wd

So yeah, having a rear locker makes a world of difference but it has its limitations. Doesn't replace having four wheels providing traction though. Look what happened with me: I couldn't get the momentum and I got stuck. Having a winch would definitely help though.

Buying a locker and winch would greatly benefit you (having a winch myself would also be of great use), not to mention its the cheapest solution, but do what makes sense for you.
