Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

Rains like it does in east Texas. Unless your MOS is "essential" you won't be coming in during any major weather (tropical storm or hurricane). I'd be more worried about heavy rain when picking out a place to live than tire considerations. My BFG's AT's have been fine

im not moving im just visiting and im going with duratracs next because even new my BFG were a bit squirmy at times when it poured. overall they did good but the duratracs were better rated for rain so im going to give those a try. i was just wondering on weather conditions and suggestion because im still not sure if i wanna go with 255/85's or 285/75's

 

Lots of road miles = 255
Lots of play miles = 285

There is a gas mileage difference

 

yeah thats what i thought. just not sure if i can adjust to the skinny tire look lol already having trouble lookin at my 265's

 

Remember there's not many choices as far as 255/85 goes.

 

Yup 255s come in 4 flavors only...KM2, Discoverer ST and couple other obscure ones.

I like my 255s...but I may go the 285 route when these shag. Or if I hang around Linwood long enough 315s...

 

Maxxis bighorn is the only other I believe. We'll all have 35's before too long
