A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
3" with a diff drop is just fine, going over that is where the troubles start. I was pushing 5" in my 95, and that was bad ju-ju. I run the 1/2" spacer and 886s in my 2011 with stock UCAs and haven't had any issues yet.

Looking at getting a lift/level on my 2013 double cab long bed trd sport and found a great deal on some OME 886 coils. Would they lift the front too much without having the added weight of a bumper or winch? Would it be better off to get some 885s since I don't plan on adding much extra weight to the front. Planning on doing some sort of AAL on the back too.

OME complete kit w/ 885s on Nitrocharger Sports, 1/4" spacers, Dakars w/ Nitrocharger Sports, LR UCAs, 265/70-17, Duratracs, G4 Elite tonneau, Weathertech Window Deflectors, Weathertech digital floor liners, factory JBL/Entune, rear differential breather relocate.
If you aren't planning on adding any weight to the front, I wouldn't suggest 886s. They will be very stiff and get you a bit more lift than you really want. 885s were meant for a double cab. 885s and a 1.5" AAL should work out well.

Thanks! That's kind of what I was afraid of. It was such a good deal though. haha

Oh, well. Do you know anywhere that has good prices for the 885? ;)

Mine came as part of the complete kit I bought. Never priced just the springs. Sorry. Wheelers Offroad is where I got mine from.

Btw. I love what you've done to your truck! That's pretty much exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to find the individual parts for the ome lift and maybe I'll save enough $$ to upgrade the tires to the 265 70 r17. No rubbing at all with that size, eh?

ARGHH! So many things I want to do and not enough money!

Thanks! Yeah, it's not cheap.....with tires and the lift I've spent about $3,000 or so. No rubbing with 265s, they'll fit on a stock/unlifted truck even. I have to remove the little mini-flaps on the front of the front wheel wells and that was all.

Could I install Icon front adjustable coilovers and LR UCA to level my truck with stock rims tires and rear suspension?

I do plan on updrading the rear with ICON as well. I continue to research but it seems like the more I do the more questions I have. If I didn't want to go ext travel with the icons should I go with UCAs still?

Would like a lift on my Tacoma. I want it to serve the essential purpose of a lift, since I do do light off-roading for shuttling on kayaking runs. Some of that got kind of scrapey, and admittedly, with 2-3 friends packed in with boats, it can bring the vehicle even lower. Some runs can get so gnarly and rocky, that you need to rent for special shuttle service; but it'd be cool if I could accomplish those trips on my own too (still trying to determine what clearance I would need).

So if I want to be nice to Joni's undercarriage, a lift that incorporates good suspension for more payload would be in order.

I also want to be able to do my own oil changes without the use of the jack.

3" might be just enough, but I can't say.

What'd be recommended? Planning this for next season. Would be good to get it done in early spring (maybe to celebrate a re-financing/lower payment).

Ps. I'm kind of going for the minimum-required clearance. Nothing over the top. I'm thinking additional 6" might be just enough or even too much. 3" might just do the trick, if the suspension holds up to full height under load.

If I were to run the front at 2" or higher it would be beneficial to have the UCAs? I appreciate the help

I will always recommend a full OME package. You may want to consider larger tires with the lift.

    That's a good summary!

Cool beans. Probably go with the full OME and just use tire/wheel size to tweak it further. Thanks!

    And now, I wait...

Ps. To confirm, you mean this kit? (In any case, it looks nice, but pricey).

That kit will do you! I have to chuckle when you say it's pricey. To install a quality lift it's a very good price. AND you can save a bundle installing it yourself.

This....I would upgrade the rears to the CS047R Dakar leafs instead of the AAL they include with the kit.

I know, I know. I'm just trying to be ultra-frugal this time around. According to another thread, an add-a-leaf and bilstein 5100 front may be just enough for me. Which would set me back around $300. Better! Just don't want to overdo it if I don't have to. I would feel much better using like half a week's pay as opposed to a week and a half. Someday, we want to own a house, lol. ;)

    I don't think they have 5100s for a 5 lug Tacoma.

I can confirm this...Just asked DSM the other day about this and the only ones that bilstein has that fits 5lugs are the 4600's and they are stock height replacements.
