Nuclear Fusion Break Even

US scientists have managed to run a fusion reactor at theoretical break-even (energy out = energy in). It's a huge milestone. The biggest hurdle is economic break-even, where it costs less to produce than you get in usable energy.

I don't know that that's possible, but then again i wasn't aware you couldn't create energy without losing some.

 

That's what the goal of fusion is. That's how the sun works and about every other star.

Fusion would give us cheap unlimited power. Been chasing it down for decades.

 

But they're in a different environment, they operate in a vacuum.
I don't know, i'm taking my 1st real science class this semester, but we're mainly learning about wavelengths.
