At the launch site, they bump into each other until they're 30-40 feet in the air, after that, I've never seen them collide, except for the balloons that are intending to be close like the bumblebees that try to kiss at every launch.

 

This just happened from last nights onshore winds combined with new moon tides 4' hone in some spots

 

Seems like the sea wants what's rightfully hers...and is taking it back.

I hope not! That was a pretty scary incident, I remember it clearly, the pilot and his 12 year old passenger were pretty damn lucky they didn't die!

That really made me laugh out loud!!

 

Yeah I remember seeing it on Ch. 7, then looking out our living room window and seeing him dangling there (I'm from Corrales). That must have been terrifying for them.

Was the shoe house balloon still there? That one landed in our back yard when I was a kid, still have the collector's card they gave me

 

I live 10 min from there.

 

The Old Lady in the Shoe was there, not the shoe house.
I live in Rivers Edge, so we were neighbors.
