My dads are 4" I think..but they are sucked up pretty good. Mine is a 3" tip I think. But it's reaaallllyyy sucked up but also kinda angled down. Lu's my shackle protects it I guess..

    Just barely see it here..

Are you still living in Cali? Wouldn't you have issues passing smog without cats or a muffler?

Sadly yes, but i'll be moved in a year at the latest.
I'd keep the cats, i'm not sure about the muffler.
HMMM, i'll have to look into the magnaflow, is there a difference in magna flow and flow master?

Flowmasters are very well known for drone on the high way. Magnas aren't.

And some say the Magnas don't create as much of a power loss as the flowmasters..but no real proof on that.

Had a Flowmaster 40 dumped on my 2.7L Tacoma and it was obnoxious! The Magnaflow 14 on my 3.4L is much better.

Yeah I have the Flowmaster 40... loved it when I first got it (probably just because it was different than stock) now I think it doesn't sound as good & am going to go with Magnaflow after this Flowmaster needs replacing

Monte, i'm gonna refurb my springs this winter, what are some good rear bumps?
I'd prefer them soft then firm up.

Bump stops? Timberens are popular. Wheelers. Makes some nice "soft" ones too.

    Or you mean soft springs??

Either way. Bumps are ment to be soft..meant to stop the axle to save your shocks. Air and hydros are the best to provide more of a gradual bump. But expensive.

Bump stops, the springs are gonna be from a chevy or ford, OMD is local so he'll be able to give me a advice on the springs.

OK, i'll check out wheelers and the timbrens.

I'm back with more questions :sorry:

I think i'd like to put a traction device in my front diff (eventually, unless someone donates to my mod fund), but i'm not sure if i want a ARB or LSD (i don't want a no-slip 'cause of the ADD).
The way i see it is
    ARB:
    Pros: max traction, select ability
Cons: cost, plumbing and wiring of air compressor and the hoses

    LSD:
    Pros: cost
Cons: traction, no ability to select

IMO, unless you know you are going to be wheeling hard (and many many mods should come before front diff locking) locking the front is not necessary and you wont really see the benefit from it. And at that, most of the time its ARB select able locker or nothing. You really want to be able to select that front.

Yeah, I definitely recommend skids and sliders at the minimum before a front locker. Probably a front bumper as well. I've had more issues not being able to climb something because my bumper hits, not because of not having traction.

Today i was on a little trail that it would've made me more comfortable if i were locked up front, it was a slick, semi-steep trail with some off-camber stuff.

    Nothing wrong with questions man.

ARB only man. Unless your gonna get manual hubs too. you will want the control over jepordizing your front CVs. Manual hubs get away with it.

LSD up front really isn't worth it IMO. Locker up there is very nice.

I agree with this all the way.

You really won't need a front locker unless your REALLY start pushing your truck a lot.

Not to discourage you from getting one as they are nice to have on tap..but..unless your going to do LOTs of very hard trails all the time, i be you will rarely use it.

    Pretty much.

I'm planning on getting some 4x inno sliders soon (gotta get my bed lined first), then some of Ryan's skids, and a 4x inno rear bumper, and either a relentless DIY bumper, or the new addicted (?) bumper and customize it myself.

But before i get a front bumper i may cut my valance off and do the blinker relocate.
 how is mark right? he has THAT face.
I'm to lazy to convert to manual hubs, plus i like my one touch 4x4.
I will get a winch before i lock, which means i gotta get a bumper, which means i gotta either get some eibachs or just go CO's/MT.

So much to do, so little time and money.
    Thanks for the info.

i can guarantee you that the front locker would not have helped you one bit if it was slick and off camber. probably would have made it worse.

Yea take your time. Start small and get out and wheel as much as you can. You'll find with good driving skill and experience, a rear locker will do a lot of good. And a winch will get you out of the other bad situations. not many need a front locker truly.
