I don't remember seeing a poll on this before...

    Who smokes?

I just heard a stat on the radio and I'm wondering if it holds true w/ TW.com users. The stat (and the reason for the options) was that 20% of adults smoke, but 33% of military members smoke.

I'm not talking about the occasional cigar or pipe smoking.

back in the day, like 4 years ago, I was all about cigarettes. I haven't looked back, and don't plan to. If cigarettes weren't so bad for you, HELL YES I would be all about them. How about adding a poll to this?duh....you did..

AF has almost eliminated smoking by active duty people. They start by banning any smoking for the duration of basic training. That breaks the habit for many people.

While embedded with the Army it appeared that every other kid in the Army is dipping. Nasty habit.

I watched my Dad die from lung cancer. I'll never smoke.

Back in basic (many years ago) the Drill Sergeant would announce “smoke’m if you got’m”. The non-smokers would be left in formation while the smokers stepped out into a painted smoking area for a break. You can imagine that many an enlisted man started his smoking career there on the spot. Then the costs per carton of $2.20 didn’t do much to deter the urge either.

I'll put a chew in every now and then, but that's about it. Not really a major habit by no means for me.

I smoked for eight years, but I forced myself to quite seven years ago. Never looking back, that's for damn sure!

Every time I have tried it, I loose my taste. So if we were at a cookout, a burger would taste the same as a bowl of dog food. :pout:
