Anybody use Froglube? Going to be using it on my AR.

Do you guys put it on the outside of the barrel/upper, or just the internals (bolt carrier group, chamber, bore)?

Yea, seen that video, and probably a dozen others.

Nobody mentions treating the exterior of the barrel/upper with FL.

I have seen videos of FL being treated to the outside of handguns (Glock, Springfield, etc), but not sure about rifles.

Not a whole lot other than the barrel to treat as far as exterior goes, the rest is aluminum or plastic. It also states on there web site that for storage or extra protection to apply a heavier film. I would say do the outside of barrel since it gets hot and will absorb it. They also state that there solvents or equivalent should be used to clean so other than a dry self lubricating protectant its really no different than anything else.

I do not, after seeing how the stuff goes rancid and/or molds I have little interest and would not trust it for long term storage. I have been very happy with Fireclean

Keep it simple. Hoppes 9 for what needs oilin, regular ol white lithium grease for what needs greasin on all my guns.

Nothing wrong with froglube from what I've experienced, but nothing to make it worth the extra dollars either.

I'm actually a Froglube dealer. I love it.

Before I became a dealer I stumbled on a video about froglube on youtube and thought I wonder if that stuff really works. I ordered a kit from brownells and started with a brand new Benelli Super Black eagle 2 and shot over 1000 rounds through it with out cleaning it inbetween. I pulled out the choke tube and wiped the carbon off with a paper towel. I have also used Froglube in my Noveske AR15 and when you take out the bolt carrier you can wipe the carbon right off.

I have been around guns all my life. My dad is an antique gun collector/dealer I have used all kinds of CLP. Trust me guys this stuff works great and your wife won't be pissed when you clean your weapon on the dinning room table.
