In the picture above only thing that i would be worried about is how high it sits on the bumper and the amount of leverage it will cause on the bumper during use. It really isnt that much weight. Run synthetic line set up springs and valving accordingly. It may be more up front but doubt it would add more weight than a front diff axles and transfer case that 4wd deals with. If you reinforce properly I see no down fall of it.Just do something like this...

talked with mike at ORS, he said that he was holding a stock tacoma outer manual cv joint and a tundra axle shaft in his hand and the spline counts match and are 34. my spline count on my cv is 26.
i got my cvs from someone else that cut and sleeved them so i wonder if they werent for my truck origionally...

so now on the hunt for stock tacoma axles.
im going to have a axle junk yard by the time im done.....

I think the bumper is tied to an engine cage up top so leverage shouldnt be a concern

That sucks. I didn't notice your truck out there, I saw a lot of 2nd gen tacomas though.

Thanks, I've been messing with the rear more... I need more shock in the front now, or I need to leave it alone and build something else.

You should have checked out the TTB tacoma, it's rad.

Thats my buddy E's truck...keep in mind that is a pretty small winch ..like a 2500 lb iirc so its not all that heavy. Obviously its not strong enough to pull you out of everything but i have seen iy get used a few times successfully. ..carry on

I think having a winch on a 2wd truck is very smart. Like i said before i have seen that winch get used a few times with success. You get 2-3. 2X trucks stuck in a wash or silt bed and youre gonna be thanking yourself for having a winch. If i had a 2x truck i would 100% have a winch.

I like the idea of receiver front n rear then use the hitch mount winch. Shit u can store it in a tool box so out if weather and shady peoples hands
