The headunit I just installed is the kenwood ddx470. Got it from crutchfield for $350 and it came with the wire harness, dash kit, installation instructions. It's a double din that can stream pandora and iPhone music through Bluetooth, or it can be plugged into your phone and do the same as well as stream Netflix. Also has a DVD player and Bluetooth phone calls.

The front speakers I got are infinity something.. $79 a set. Rear speakers are kenwood something.. $49 a set. Both came with the speaker adapters, wire harnesses, and installation instructions. I spent a total of $580 for new headunit, front and rear speakers, steering wheel control interface, and the iPod cable. That's less than I spent for my old headunit alone, and I bought it for 50% off when I got it.

I've had a pioneer sub and blew it up the first week I had it. And my old headunit was pioneer and it sucked. They are garbage IMO and ill never buy another pioneer product. Their warranty and customer service is non existant as well.

With my kicker sub if I ever have a problem I can go to any kicker dealer and get a new replacement on the spot.

I have pioneer 3-way speakers, not a single complaint.

I have the AVH-2400bt and I love it.

To each their own. I did what I could afford.

Just checked out the kenwood unit and I gotta say it looks really nice! I'm a fan of alpine products but I heard their headunits aren't that great unlike their subs and speakers. Looks like I'm going with a pair of 6x9 and 5x8 with tweeters either kenwood or alpine. I have a 1000watt kenwood amp that I'm gonna try to use with the speakers also if its possible

    What haven’t I changed?
How many channels does that Kenwood amp have again? I thought it was a single-channel sub amp?

It might be a single channel one...is there still a way to operate all the speakers?

I believe you'd lose the whole idea of "surround sound" and any ability to fade it left and right or front to back. Also any song that has sounds designed to be heard from one speaker would then be mixed into all the speakers.

    I have a Pioneer DEH-X6500BT.

And my speakers are Polk Audio component speakers that have worked good for years.

Probably. Technology just keeps improving. Josh's headunit already has more features than mine with the exception of navigation.
