    So I drove from Las Vegas to Pa with the brick of a RTT on top of the cap. It's not too bad but you definitely know it is up there especially when it's windy... :eek:
    I don't know if it will help with MPG's (nor do I really care) but I decided to take a shot at fabricating a fairing for the roof to deflect some of the wind.

    Initially I was looking at just getting a Thule or Yakima rack system for the cab since some of them have an integrated wind deflector. Unfortunately after researching them they are simply to short. The Mt. Hood is 14" tall by itself and add to that another 5" when it's mounted on the cap's rack system.

    I went to Sears Hardware and got a nice set of 3/8" Stainless Steel hardware too:

    Sad to say that Home Depot does not have a great selection of Stainless Steel hardware. :(

    I've got the whole works disassembled and primed in the shop now. My next move once it's all back together is to put the tent on and then see where on the OEM rack I'll need to drill for the fasteners (the bolts w/ wingnuts).
