I had a full set on my track car. I felt a noticeable difference. Stiffer pedal/ better feel. Slightly more responsive due to no brake line expansion under pressure. On the taco not sure there would be a noticeable difference unless you brake lines were junk already. Just changing to new fluid and bleeding would probably be felt more than stainless lines here.

 

I have them just in the back . I needed a longer line for my leaf pack . I don't really notice a difference . But maybe front and back you would .

 

Thanks! My lines are 6 years old now. I do keep up with fluid flushing and put on new pads and rotors about a year and a half ago. The pads and rotors helped, they seem to have a better initial bite but obviously didn't change the feel of the pedal. I've always felt that the Tacoma has a soft pedal.

 

The set I'm hoping to get would be front and back. I don't think my rear brakes do a hell of a lot to begin with. 96k miles on them and I haven't done a thing with them! The fronts take a beating driving in and out of Boston daily though.

 

At 100k on the stock lines the stainless may have a noticeable feel difference.

 

I noticed a very minor difference. I do HIGHLY recommend the OCTaco lines. Great price, and you don't have to trim the rear brackets (tabs) to install them.

 

What do you mean 'trim the brackets'? I would have thought they'd be a direct replacement

The ones I'm looking at are Goodrich brand.

Heh, day late and a dollar short, someone bought them before I could.

 

I have stainless front and rear and the pedal feel is much better!

I got 4" longer lines for the rear and the bite feels great, even with shitty autozone brake pads

 

I have the stainless rear lines, just never installed them.

Ah, I see. Well, I just ordered the OCTaco lines in red. Stock length for the front, extended for the rear (mine are pretty tight at full droop). Hopefully I can kiss the squishy pedal good bye.

 

OC's lines go right in. I did add a little extra bend on the retainers to ensure they were really snug. Remove your spare when you install them, as there is very little room between the frame rail and the bed to turn a wrench.

 

I'll have some for sale soon .

 

What do you have, and how many miles on them? Also, ball-park on price? How soon is soon? This government budget snafu has my paycheck all effed up.

 

Total chaos upgraded to stainless steel uniball and brand new set of bushings never installed . Maybe 12k miles if that . $450 should have them off the truck end of next week .

Light racing brand new in the box never installed . $325 what I paid .
