33 12.5 or 31 10.5

I am looking at buying some new duratracs and dont know if i want 31 10.5 or 33 10.5

I have a 3.4 with 5 a speed and currently have 31.10.5 on my truck with a 3 inch lift. I think 33s would look better but would they rob me of power and mpg? compared to 31 10.5

Go 33/10.5. I loved mine

 

I'd get the 235/85/16's they will be the best for power and mileage... plus I personally like the tall skinny look

 

33x12.5 kill e mpgs and hit the power. 33x10.5s would be better but only BFG makes that size now I believe

 

^Yeah, the 33/12.5s kill mpgs. I think the Toyos come in a 33/10.5 too though

 

If I had the 5 speed manual I'd go 33. From what I understand, it can handle the bigger tires easier.

 

I put on a 2 1/2 inch lift and 33 12.50 Procomp X-terrains a couple of weeks ago after running 31's for the last 11 years. Truck is a '99 with the 3.4 and auto tranny. I have noticed a small loss of power upon acceleration from a stop and a drop of 1 - 2 mpg but I expected this. I plan on doing the deckplate mod in a few weeks and hopefully bring back some of the power and mpg that I have lost. Other than that I am happy as my Tacoma looks badass now.

 

damn i am torn i dont know what i want. 33 or 31 duratracs. they are pretty close in price i know my truck would look better with 33s

 

so for a guy to put 33 125 15 duratras on a tacoma with 3 inch lift and a 5 speed 3.4 would it be a noticable difference from 33s. its my dailey driver. i get 500 km to a tnka right now

 

yes it will be noticeble. Much bigger rolling mass and more weight. You will notice.

 

265/75/16's don't look terrible with a 3" lift. So if you're worried about keeping good mpg's then those would be a good option.

my truck has 3 inch lift with 31s i dont mind the look. what are you running right now?

I paid less than 1k for my set of 33 10.5 BFG km2's from national tire and battery... Mounted balanced aligned

Didn't kill my mpg too bad. We'll see once I get some armor
