no, i'll just stand it on its side and shove it in the corner. i threw out two huge boxes of crap but only gained 1/3 of their volume in space after I put everything else back :notsure:

I will take your money :)
Architect bashing aside - their job isn't what most people assume it is. If thats what he wants to do then he really needs to look into what his life would be day after day. They used to have to engineer things and figure stuff out but now, thanks largely to CAD programs, revisions can go much faster than they did in the days of hand drawing when you wanted it right the first time. Now no one gives a shit about figuring things out because there will always be someone else to figure it out for them.

    ha ha...your trusses are flat.

Looks like a jig saw puzzle

Yeah, not sure how that works... clean stuff up, and you only have a little bit more room... Good thing toy is a little truck, so you have extra room in your garage.

Have you asked him how he is going to put himself through architecture school, and then how is he going to pay off the loans when he can't find any work?

And if you try to force him into doing something he doesn't really want to do, it will just end up as a waste of time. My first two years in college I was majoring in mechanical engineering. I've always been a "tinkerer" of sorts so my parents somewhat pushed me to go for it. Meanwhile the school I was going to also had a mechanical engineering technology program, which focused more on the application than the math. Four years later after leaving the school and the major, I graduate with a degree in criminology/information assurance and haven't found dick for jobs because they all want 10 years experience. I feel like if I would have just switched majors (to MET) I would have graduated "on time" and had a job lined up right out of school.

Moral of the story is, pay attention to his hobbies, etc. and suggest what kind of future he can have with it.

I want him to do something he loves. I don't want to force him into anything, but what ever he does I want him to apply himself. He doesn't do that now and that is what bothers me.

Go to the local recruining office and give them his name. Or send him to a salmon cannery next summer. Do you have a Conservation Corps up there?

    Or send him here.

Sounds like it is more pussified than when I went at 14. LIke, a million years ago.
