    Odds and Ends
    Most of Bradshaw and down into Ted Kipf and Mammoth Wash are 2wd friendlyish. Some soft areas that require a bit of speed to be safe. After a rain it can get pretty fugly with unforgiving mud and unpredictable washouts in areas.
    I've had to jerk a few jerks out in the Mammoth area where it get more like Glamis sand.
    I would take a 2wd thru that area if I had company that had a transfer case tagging along to be safe

    I have a cb.....but plan on a race radio or ham in the near future, not for this meet though.

    Cb's are cool for basic runs or road trips. But anything with hills or stretched out its pointless.

    I picked up a handheld cb for like $35 off Amazon for buddies to use. FYI.

    You do need a license to operate a Amatuer radio. I wish more TW folks would study and take the test to get licensed, and rig up. A 2 Meter radio like that Kenwood is good for about 50 miles with a properly mounted antenna in simplex mode, much further if you talk into a repeater.

    I like handhelds because a lot of the expeditions and trail runs we go on, we have to stop and go on foot for a certain distance to determine if the trucks can make it through or not. Having handhelds lets us communicate with the rest of the pack who are still in the trucks.
