Installed my odyssey battery and Kodiak hold down after work. swooped that out of the 4runner before i sold it. Thought it was about time to install her.

You should throw some raammat and ensolite on that rear wall while you have it torn apart.

    Makes a huge difference

Don't remember exactly, but somewhere near the $300.00 range. I forget what die hard battery, but i have been told die hard has the same battery as the odyssey rebadged for cheaper. Maybe someone can chime on this topic.

anyway, i have had 3 of these in different vehicles, they last, and have a long reserve time as well as being vibration proof.

Since we're on the topic of car audio, I had a question regarding Pioneer double din head units. I'm mainly interested in: Pandora (would be nice to not have to rely on my iPhone), Navigation (would be nice) and Bluetooth (to sync up the Pandora if I have to use my phone for it). I have an iPhone 5 btw if that matters any

I've looked on Crutchfield and other threads and narrowed it down to the following options:

    1.) Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS
This seems to have good all around reviews from people who've used it and it has Pandora, Bluetooth (to link up the iPhone/Pandora). I believe it is missing navigation/a map.

    2.) Pioneer AVH-X2500BT
Pandora, Bluetooth & comes with the kit to hook up the iPhone 5 (nice).

    3.) Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS
This one has pretty good reviews but in the description it only says iPhone 4 & 4S so does this mean that option #3 is a no-no?

I feel like these are all pretty similar but I'd rather see what you more experienced folks have with these head units-- or what you've heard & opinions on which one is superior.

The USB port on my old single din is starting to crap out so it's time to upgrade

I have the avh-x4500bt and love it. Bluetooth, pandora, DVD obviously. No nav though. But I've heard you can pay 5 bucks for an app that will show on the screen and do the same thing. But you need the right AV cord for that which is another 50 I think. Over all I think it's hard to beat for the price. Links up via Bluetooth in about 10 seconds or less. Good equalizer settings and it looks great too.

Also, the screen tilts! Some don't and it is critical that you can tilt it up because they sit so low in our trucks. The faceplate is not removable though. That's one thing I wish it had.

Excellent info. Yeah I like the looks of them all, I just don't really know the differences between them and deciding is awfully hard based on a short description and half ass fake pictures off of Amazon/Crutchfield hah

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
here is a better way to look at them. There are several small differences that might matter to you.

Only one of them as a 3.5mm input for instance..and its on the rear. all the USBs on rear. all have RCA inputs on the rear. One has 4v preamps vs the others having 2v. (id prefer 4v). all have 8 band eq.

    some radio function differences

    compatibility differences and format differences.

Also..i don't think that just cause it says it'll run Pandora, doesn't mean it just streams it by itself. It means it'll stream it via your phone and you can control it on the HU.

pretty much the same unit though, just some looks differences mainly and ergonomic stuff.

Yeah they still need to be hooked up to your phone for pandora. Either wired or Bluetooth. The ones that say pandora ready just mean they will give you options to like or dislike songs on the head unit. And choose stations. But that's not via Bluetooth, it's via USB. Mine does that too.

I was thinking about it but damn that stuff's expensive and I'd have to order it and wait for shipping. Trying to knock this out in a weekend but we'll see. Did you dye all the rear panels black too? I was thinking about that but idk how it would look with blue seats.

For $130 you can get enough raamat and ensolite to do the rear wall, both door panels and rear quarter panel.

    Not expensive at all.

I did paint and dye the entire rear interior as well. Seats included.

The sound deadening makes a huge difference man. Especially the door panels.

    Bone stock. For now.
Just saw this...PLEASE keep me updated! I'm trying to come up with some ideas for my Double Cab. I don't want to mount any boxes behind the seats because I love having that space for other stuff. I am going to pull the back seat out this weekend and look at some under-seat mounting options. I'll probably go with a single JL Audio TW-3. 10 inch sub rated at 400W RMS (Dual 4 Ohm), with a 3.25" mounting depth?! Yes please!
