I had oil in my backseat once for my boat engine. Leaked through the bag and container. I had to pull the seats to clean it.

2-strokes on the road are a lot of fun. And back quite a few years ago were designed for the road. Not so much in the last 20 years or so. Plugs don't foul nearly as often as some people think. Usually that happens from the engine idling too long or the fuel being mixed too rich. Most 2-stroke road legal bikes now are KTM 300s. Great machine for a capable rider. 4-strokes are a pain in the dick. Maintenance on a smoker is way less than a valve engine. Ever tear the top end of an OHC engine apart to shim valves?

I'll take a valve adjustment over replacing a minimum of piston & rings which can include a cylinder. Mixing fuel is for my chainsaw.

you just saying that cuz you 4 stroke went boom :D

honestly, power band was awesome. I always owned Kawi's (kx80 to kx125 to kx250) then I owned a banshee, every bolt on possible. got rid of that then rode my friends crf450r and fell in love. limitless torque over power band for me. not sure if I'd ever buy another 2 stroke dirtbike. the 4 strokes have evolved and aren't the slugs they were.

another one of those endless internet debates, at least tomorrow is Friday.

Much more simple. Top end on a 2-stroke engine is a lot easier and cheaper. No valves and shit to deal with. Pull the plug out and take the nuts off the cylinder and pull it off. New piston, wrist pin, clips, and a ring and you're back in business

I had a '08 yz250f until this past march. Had fmf exhaust and a couple other bolt ons. I'm a huge Yamaha fan. I came across a 07 kx250 four stroke, (forgot to mention that earlier), for pretty cheap since it needs a new top end. If I'm correct I believe the kx's and yz's had the same frame...

Sounds like a waste of an ATV. Then again drag anything feels like a waste to me.
