Awesome that Moab is 'open' again. Had some friends driving thru that wanted to go, and now they can again.

    from governor Gary Herbert...

Utah and the Department of Interior have entered into an agreement to re-open 8 National Parks and monuments.

Those are: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef & Zions National Parks, as well as Natural Bridges & Cedar Breaks Monuments & Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. I'm glad to have these parks and monuments up and running again

"This evening the Governor signed an agreement with Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and the National Park Service (NPS) whereby Utah agrees to pay the NPS up to $1.67 million— $166,572 per day—to re-open eight national sites in Utah for up to 10 days. If the federal government shutdown ends before then, the State will receive a refund of unused monies.
