I will bounce and wiggle the rear tomorrow, but what is so strange is that it happens so much easier making a left turn, then a right. I do have a cap which brings up my center of gravity, but again it didn't do this until 2-3 weeks ago.

Totally agree with above. OEM dunlops were terrible in rain, especially turning from a full stop. Got new tires at 35K miles, like driving a different truck.

I honestly have no clue how many miles are on the tires. They are BFG rugged trail, and came on the truck, so I can only account for the 12,000 I put on them. There is still over 1/4 inch of tread on them, so I shouldn't be into the harder rubber yet, but who knows they could be 6 years old for all I know.

Anyone want to buy a 2005 with Toyota warranty?!?!

Oh gosh, I fishtailed into a barrier while driving with the stock dunlops while driving in the rain. Those tires suck so much. Went out and bought Duratracs the next day. Those things stick like glue, even in rain.

Dude, keep the truck, it's worth it with a little bit of work. Replacing leafs is easy, and you'll have to buy new tires in a year or so anyway.

I originally thought the OP was talking about body roll, handling, then the age of his tires was brought to light. Although I feel like you'd really have to do your best Andretti impersonation to break traction in decent driving conditions.

I was mostly joking.... My wife would have my ass if I really sold it. Would have be a real good price to sell, I paid 17 for it and paid 2,000 for a 5yr/60mo warranty

I didn't think it would affect it either, my tires aren't bad and I just don't get why it's so slippery, even times when it rains for a week straight so it's not just oil on the roads. Maybe my goodyears are just total shit

I'm from Sussex county too. Where abouts are you from. Sorry to thread jack lol but I would definatly look into getting new tires. I always ran bfg at's and I was very familiar with them then I got a set used with good tread but they were a little older and it was like a totally different tire.

My 4 cyl looses traction like a monster down here in FL. At about 5 mph left hand turn I start to slide and have 0 traction in the rear just pure wheel spinning with fairly new tires. They only have about 7,000 on them

Yup .... I have the SPORT with Bridgestone Dueler Revo's that are 3 years old.

Give me a slightly damp roadway and the tires break loose easily.

    To the OP -

What tire pressure are you running? I generally run 32psi. In the winter, I'll drop the pressure down a bit to stock recommendations 29psi.

How long have you owned the truck? If you've owned the truck for a long time, is this a totally new sensation (fish tailing)??

Or is this truck fairly new to you?
Have you always had the 'cap' on the back?

I have had the truck since march, cap always been on. The sensation started about 3 weeks ago, only when I make left turns, and the truck leans on the right. I have had the truck into the dealer for a shimmy on the passenger side front, but the dealer can't find anything wrong, Neither can my local guy who I do trust.

Since I've had the truck, never. The local shop said the alignment looked good, but I still may have it done just to rule it out

So I put the rear on jackstands to take the tires out of it and did a little jumping. I'm about 200 pounds and doesn't seem like the springs are that bad. This is with the helper springs I decided not to take them off just yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wsEMdY4qEk
