im not really happy with the ome "3 inch" lift i got now so looking for something different without too much cost

 

Why aren't you happy with the OME lift?

 

i guess its cause toytec said with the 884's id get a 3" lift but after research it doesnt happen, i found this even (half way through the page in red): when i was shopping and asked them they never mentioned this (just now came across it not when i was shopping) and it was well after this that i asked them what i needed to get a real 3" lift. i want something that will give me a 3" if not a little bit more in the front so i dont really know what to do. just looking for options for another lift cause the 885's might do it and i guess i might be able to find them from another vendor just not toytec. i dont like paying twice for what i was told i would get in the first place..

 

Well the 884's are basically made for the single cab or the extra-cab. The DBL-cab needs the 885's.
But what you need to realize is that ALL springs will sag over time. It's just how things are.

I would recommend buying a set of 5100's to compensate for the lack of lift.

He'll need the stock springs if he wants to use the preload on the 5100s. Or he can use the 88X springs with the 5100s at the stock notch. Can't mix the 88X springs and the preload from the 5100s IIRC.

WheelersOffroad has OME gear...So you could get the heavier rate springs there as well as a top plate spacer to get to the full 3 inches. Sag will happen..but I didn't get a full 3 inches with my OME lift either.

 

ya but its not an over time sag, its a from the box sag. oh well maybe ill get coilovers. id hate to spend money for new springs and shocks, wouldnt coilovers be a better deal? which ones would be the best?

 

No actually he can. As long as he doesn't exceed the 3" lift.

The ToyTec Ultimate kit is just that. (Coils on a set of 5100's)

 

C/O's would be the best option. But the 5100's would be the most affordable. And because of the improved valving it would improve your ride.

 

yeah u might want to go with toytec coilovers that r adjustable upto 3'' and they come with the heavy load springs i have a set but just have mine set at 2'' factory setting

 

you have them set at 2" and do you have an aal in the back or not?
