On my 01 trd package with the same size tires I got a conversion factor of 1.069 using a gps. So 6.9% faster then the stock spedo. Which is within .1 of a percent of the difference of revolutions per mile using this page. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php?tires=265-70r16-285-75r16

Oh chit. I'm a tad bit off then too, I think mine gave me 1.07-- I also used a GPS (well mapmyrun.com and then plotted the exact distance [11.30 miles] and hit the freeway from my house and back)

    You meant it's 0.001 (0.01%) off, right?

Yeah I mean .001. I'm trying to figure out why that conversion page has a different percent for tire circumference and revs per mile though. I did some division and it looks like they used the circumference percent (7.3%) for their listed mph calculations, so it seems I should ideally have a conversion factor of 1.073 on the ultra-gauge.

Yeah it looks like 1.073 is the magic number for our set up. How many miles did you drive when you calibrated yours?

I think tomorrow I'm gonna hit the freeway & check out my mph differences when comparing my speedometer with the speedo on my UG to the ones provided in with this comparison

I drove 3 miles for my calibration. I was using an older garmin hiking gps, so I'm not really sure about the accuracy. Should be interesting to see what happens to see with the freeway. Are you planning to use your gps factor or the 1.073 from the tire calculator?

I'll try out my hunting GPS (pretty dang accurate). If I reset the distance calibration will my mpg calibration need to be reset after we get this down to the exact calibration?

We'll see if that gets me closer to 1.073

I'm not sure about the mpg but the ultra gauge manual says to calibrate distance first so that makes me think so. You might see when you edit your distance calibration (if you do) if your mpg factor is automatically edited too.

Yeah the manual is why I brought it up, hmm. Either way it's not a huge deal, I just want to get it up & running

    Luckyyy
