Best I could do without going into the cargo bed. 6.5" stroke fox emulsion shocks. Running a 30f/30 for valving to start with. I removed the .5" rubber bumper on the shaft as I have my own bumps. No binding on the misalignments on droop (actually over droop here as the shackles are negative) or full bump and about 1/4" of shaft to spare on bump. Also full flex on one side no binding.

It should work pretty decent as its going almost direct against the direction of the travel of the springs. The damn leafs move back a full 4" from full droop to full bump.

It stays. I scored some massive fenders from Sierra 4x4 trailer. They clear up to 37" tires. I mounted them high enough to clear 35's without rubbing at bump.

That's damn near a trailing arm type suspension! Question mark. Dou you think that your water tank would be able to fit/ function laying down under the belly of the trailer?

That's total spring movement tho. Divide that by two for axle movement as the spring centering pins are dead nuts center of the pack.

You could potentially use it under the frame. It's about 8.5" thick though so it would hang 5" lower than the frame and be a lot harder to build mounts to handle that kind of weight with the abuse it will go through.

I though you were saying 4" for the axle, not the rear shackle. Thats reasonable.

How bout uhmw sheet for the mount/skid for the water tank? I kind-o-want as much room on the top side for accessories, and extra weight/sloshing weight as low as possible. At least if I ever get around to building my trailer.

    Could work.
Here's all the sizes they offer:
    http://www.valterra.com/rv/fresh_water_tanks_and_accessorie.htm

You can put fill/drain/vent ports wherever you want with simple ABS plastic weld.

I would think it more difficult to put the tank on the bottom of the trailer. Heavier frame ((like 2x4) to protect the tank) and potentially a reduced structural support to accommodate the increased size. Seems the no slosh, front mount gets you around those problems?

That's one reason I like these tanks. When I drilled my fill hole I dropped a headlamp inside, sure enough, no BS, there's some really solid baffling inside the tanks every 12-18". Doesn't completely eliminate sloshing, but certainly helps. One could go so far as to drop a bunch of wiffle balls inside the tank if the intention was non-potable only water.

    Nada.
Can't work on a the trailer from Modesto (last week)...or Dallas (this week).
Being "technically" in sales sucks when it comes up on the end of the fiscal year (this month).

Not a whole lot new....but at least it's something.
Never have to look for a beer bottle opener as I put one on each corner.

And yes Jerry....I did gusset that.

FINALLY had a weekend home. Was working on the trailer all day today. Not gonna showing all my cards today, but here's some teasers.

Seemingly normal and incognito driver's side door with a sexy t-handle lock and a beer bottle opener gusset on the tent poles. Nothing to see here right?

    6CB74C6C-6AD9-47F5-8081-7EF56019C61D-697_3fef5a3a3c89a640823a071e23859968e5e611a7.jpg

    Until you open it up.
I mean....we are talking about me here. Not saying I'm prone to accidents, but I've averaged 3/4 of a surgery per year over the last 5 years....so, SAFETY FIRST! Not to mention two kids who every day start taking after me more and more.
Compliments of my local Rotopax dealer, the man who cuts any and every possible thing I need in terms of custom plate work, gussets, beer bottle openers, and generally a great all around vendor and friend....Relenteless Eric. Fit like a damn glove! Fit so well, I'm contemplating getting an empty Rotopax container for the other door just for misc shit you always wish you had while camping and yet can't seem to find. Misses jberry insisted on a wine bottle opener be included somewhere since I have 4 beer bottle openers built in, so I it seems like a perfect candidate for housing that.

Also got some work done on the tailgate.
Fold down tabletop held in place by some toggle clamps, paper towel dispenser, and once again because we're talking about me....an ABC fire extinguisher.

    I live in NV now.
"Lockable" and "Gun Storage" are not normally used in the same sentence.

That said, I could put whatever I wanted inside the trailer and ensure I lock all three t-handles and still be compliant to CA's criteria for firearm transportation so long as they are unloaded.

On the other hand...I've never consented to a vehicle search either. :D
