Apparently lol. We hung out with him all night and a bunch of others, found out he had one and I was sober so I was going to be his DD and drive it back for him but we had a plan mix up. We all stayed over at my friends house and we had to drop him off at his place today so since I couldn't drive it yesterday we went cruising around today.

I'd stay on the north side but it all depends on you budget to rent or buy.

Yeah a bar, it won't be done right away when I move in. Gotta see what the cost is going to be. My buddy is going to do the contracting for free so cost of materials is all I will have.

Just got home from watching the game at Amanda's boss's house. They had Famous Dave's cater it an it was turrble. I was mind blown at everyone talking about how good it was. Dafuq? I had to stop at the store on the way home to get a couple of pork shoulders. Got it rubbed up and in the fridge waiting to go in the smoker first thing in the morning. I have to wash this crappy BBQ taste out of my mouth and it's a shame I have to wait 24hrs to do so. Normally Famous Dave's isn't this bad but it really was this time. Just awful. Made me feel better about my brisket I did last week that I thought wasn't any good. Suddenly I felt like mine was pretty damn good. lol

OST same with me after smoking my own it's hard to eat at BBQ places. I smoked a turkey and brisket and did a blind taste test with my friends and family against Rudy's and most people said mine was better. I love Rudy's though it's in a different league than famous Daves though. Something about home made is the best.

    Don't worry, I got two shoulders. ;)

I love Rudy's but for different reasons. Just like I love Nordy's but for different reasons. With Rudy's it's the sides that make me a fan. The meat is just alright on their best days. It is consistent however and that's a good thing for BBQ. Same thing with Nordy's... consistent. The thing I like about Nordy's is the lunch buffet for $11. I just had it last week with my mom in fact and even invited Aaron but he was too good for us. Neither of them would I consider high-end BBQ though. I've been all over this wonderful nation and I make make it a point to find out where the best BBQ is and see what they have to offer. With that experience I have pretty lofty expectations of my own and my brisket didn't come even close. It was still better than that crap we were fed tonight. Normally Famous Dave's is in the 'consistent' category like the aforementioned two joints but today's meats make me change my mind about that. Even then it wasn't really what I would consider a 'good' consistent. It was edible and their chicken was about the best. If you serve all the popular BBQ meats and your chicken is the best thing you have that's a bad sign.

I hope Georgia Boys in Longmont is open when I ride out with Aaron next because that might be the best beef brisket in the state. They have unique sides that are delicious but they rarely make enough so a lot of them are gone during the lunch rush and they cross them off. My only complaint with them but I would rather take quality over quantity.
