Unfortunately your (my question also) question will not be answered. They seem to just ignore this, and don't have a clear answer if you call.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.

True a new product will most likely have bugs... But if disabling the seat belt chime is the only confirmed (that I've seen in this thread) feature out of that entire list that works, besides the performance stuff, that is more than just a bug. That list just seemed like the generic list of adjustable features vs the actual applicable features specific to our tacos.

Just my .02, but originally BD advertised this programmer to have capabilities it actually doesn't have (yet). The only way the buyer found out the features weren't in the programmer is the hard way. So really, its BDs fault. That's reason enough to believe that BD should do everything it takes to make things right. I don't feel like tap is at fault.

right, and i wouldnt have a problem if it was most of the list that works, but listing 50 things and getting 2?

I would have a serious problem with that.

I bought a drill from home depot a few months ago,

    rigid cordles drill
    -1/2 chuck
    -2 batterys
    -variable trigger
    -turns left
    -turns right
    -hand tightnening chuck
    -carry bag
    -battery charger

So if that lis of 8 things, and it didnt come with the bag, i may keep it.

if the only thing on that list that it cam with was the bag, and i sent it back for my money back.. and the company said i opened the package and the instructions and i didnt put the strap for the bag back in.

I would ask where the person on the phone lived. so i could personaly shake his hand and congratulate him or her on being the dumbest person whos ever sold me something..

This is is an example. Partialy to be funny and partialy to make sense :)

The list of features is obviously wrong. I find it hard to believe BD released the product "not knowing" those features didn't work on a tacoma. So I agree its not a bug, but a mistake by BD. The problem was compounded when BD neglected to mention features do not work.

It is a performance chip, meaning its main purpose is to increase performance. I guess i don't understand why you would buy it if your main goal isn't performance. Pardon my ignorance

for me that would be the main goal,

BUT for others it might just be the icing on the cake, or maybe half the goal, different people different strokes.

The product may be mainly for, or the marketing may be for one thing.. But the other uses may be more appealing to someone than that.. or at least equally important.

Like plasti-dip origionally for tool handles etc. Now i would guess primarily sold to people using it on cars and trucks.

    wd-40 is another example.

I am not saying that the BD tuner is ever going to be sold to more people for features than for tuning, just saying that for someone the features may be more important than others.

What I really wanted was to be able to display transmission temp, so I just dug up my old Scangauge II, sent it in to Linear Logic, paid $25, had it updated and plugged in the X-Gauge codes. I was hoping that for $900, it would do a bit more, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

There's a reason they call it the "bleeding edge" of technology. From the responses above, I think I might wait until version 2 or 3. For the money, I can't justify it now.

For my plain jane naturally aspirated white SR5, it isn't worth it if the only thing you can do is disable the seat-belt chime and get 7hp. You can disable the chime without a programer. And the 7hp? I can live without it.

I guess we will just have to wait until the Paypal dispute is resolved then. I just find it hard to believe that I am one minute told there will be no restocking fee, then there will be no restocking fee if I replace the items that I supposedly used, then I get told there will indeed be a restocking fee and then get told the amount is even greater than originally told it would be....

Is this what customer service has come to?

So I put the performance tune back in my truck and lost about 3 mpg while doing normal driving. I am guessing the tune dumps more fuel and advances the timing. While driving without tune I can get 17mpg @ 2000rpm with the perfomance tune it is 14mpg @ 2000rpm. It cost to have fun

If the tune got you to go 2000 mph, I think it's worth MUCH more than the $900! :D

BTW - TAP is off my list of vendors I would purchase this (or anything) from. There should never have been a need to resort to a PayPal case in the first place. Now using that as a reason you can't resolve this? Geez.....

We have had one other return and there was no issue, with plenty of happy customers on from TW and other tacoma sites. I apologize for the inconvenience, we will eventually get everything resolved sfcadams.

Chas - as the old rule goes, you can have 1,000 happy customers - but everyone will remember the 1 unsatisfied customer.

I had no issues really purchasing the tuner from them. Just going through some difficulty trying to return it I guess...
