For the door windows or the rear quarter windows? Both my door windows rsttle and sound like they are breaking every time I roll them up.

Today I swapped out the 33's(Treadwright 285/70/17 guard dogs) off my 4runner for the 35's(35x12.50x15 MTR Kevlar) on my Tacoma to experiment with power/handling/mpg with the smaller tires.... after driving around this evening a little I'm noticing more pep, easier to run 5th on the freeway, and also a 20% increase in gas mileage. Went from around 14.5mpg up to near 18mpg.
Might just have to run a set of 33's for DD and keep a set of 35's for off road trips. Looks a little funny with 6" lift 33's though.

Or the other option.... regear for the 35's and throw on a Turbo... $$$

If it helps, these are from a 99 Ford Explorer. I bought them new in 99 as an Explorer "accessory" from a Ford dealer for around $150.
The side rails had a bit of a curve but were flexible enough to flatten out against the relatively flat shell.
They would not conform to the "bump" in an excab roof. I think that is what 01Tacoma is trying to get around with the shortened rails.

I had this same problem with my driver's door window. Opened up the door and found that the bottom rivet for the forward window track had broken free. I drilled out the whole and used a small bolt and nut I had laying around. No issues with it over the last year.

I got it off a 98 Runner for $20 and cut the track down to fit in front of the hump and a shorter piece on the back.. I plan to make my own adjustable cross bars that a straight across rather than curved like these but will switch between the two depending on if i want to carry something or just have the curved cross bars for asthetics
