I actually will. Erica still is leaving Nov 2nd for Kansas. She already has the tickets, and returns back to WA December 21st or so. She can move the return ticket, and will until the end of January if I get my class date moved.

I won't be flying out to KS for thanksgiving. I probably won't even for Christmas. We don't have the extra cash, and she shouldn't have ever bought the tickets without asking anyway. I know I will miss his first's, but I can't really do much about it.

x10 for holidays with the family. ;)

 Sooo cool that you use the gears on auto...I do that all the time in wife's truck. She used to ask what I was doing...doesn't anymore because I've explained a few times...but she still thinks I do it because I'm bored. :notsure:

 How do they not see that coming?

    :pout: Well that stinks

I learned to use my gears the hard way - one of our first meets I rode the brakes too much and by the end of the day Toy was making some horrible noises. After that I used 4lo a lot more to help slow me down.

:D but you still love me.

Its just better this way! I'm doing the world a favor!

    Have fun.

Before my '09 taco, my '99 taco and '89 CRX were both manuals. It is just habit for me to downshift. The 2nd gen makes it really easy to do so. I find myself shifting the auto like its a manual.

A good driver can anticipate conditions long before a bundle of wires and chips can sense and respond after the fact. Manual FTMFW.

Personally, I believe that the automatic transmission is the cause of the downfall of civilization.

True. I wished my truck was a manual but I knew I'd never see a cleaner, low miles Toy like it again so I decided not to be picky.

We'd probably see less "distracted driving" collisions if there were more manuals on the road! Try to text and shift at the same time!

Boo Boo! How's the new ride?

 I always think of 4lo as "tractor mode."

 So I can tell Kristi it's not just me. :D

    ;) That's what I'm sayin'

 Never thought it through, but you might be correct.

 I'm very impressed with how well my front disc pads are wearing. Inner and outer wearing evenly at 7mm remaining. Think I'm good 'til Spring when I'll check again unless something causes concern.:)

Had to refill me coffee...back out to swap out the rear tires.

Things that make you go hmmm...

It occurred to me that with 92K on my truck (bought w/ 23K), I still have lots of life left on my pads. On the other hand, I just changed the pads on my wife's truck at 38K (bought w/ 25K).

...Yeah, she's right, I engine brake/downshift because I'm bored.

:) Probably better keep that one to myself ... and it's Toyota vs Ford, so might be apples to oranges?

 Nap time ... back to work tonight.
