    Hey guys,
My truck seems to do this weird "quiver" when I shift into second and then accelerate. It only happens in second gear and only between 2000-2500 Rpm under a decent load I.E. leaving a stop light or coming out of a 90 degree turn then accelerating. It doesnt seem to happen when I accelerate "hard" or "soft". Its kind of hard to explain but it feels like my entire truck is shaking. My truck has 151,xxx miles on it and have never had to have the clutch replaced (just had it checked and they said it was fine). Not sure whats going on, any advice would be great.
    Thanks

Wouldn't a misfire be noticeable under hard acceleration in any gear? He'd also have thrown a code I believe.

Maybe investigate the condition of the engine and tranny mounts. Then move down to the drive shaft and give it a once over, checking for unusual wear or play.

Misfire? please ellaborate. Are you suggesting something is wrong with the computer? it is only in second gear though, wouldnt that affect all gears in the RPM range.

A misfire wouldn't necessarily be noticeable all the time, and it may, or may not throw a code. OP was asking for ideas, so I threw that out there. The engine and tranny mounts are a good shot too but as a mechanical issue, I would think that WOULD be noticeable under hard acceleration in any gear. GL op.

I know, I think its strange that the symptom is only evident in second gear.

Do u have a carrier bearing?

At certain angles, they can be speed related.

Mine used to act up and cause a shudder at 20mph roughly.... Then after trying a beefedtaco carrier bearing drop, the shudder and noise was only evident at 65-70 and worse under acceleration at those speeds.

Now I have the ome drop and its fine.... Urs may be going out, and at a certain speed its causing the vibration to be more noticeable due to hitting the right resonating frequency at that speed.

I had the carrier bearing checked when mine had a weird vibration and sound around 65-70. Ended up being my front right and rear left wheel bearings (around 2200 to fix at the dealer, just fyi). I will check it out again though.
