Just thought I'd let you know that I'm still here! I have nothing to say in regards to the return policy. Sounds like something that will get worked out asap with Chas and Sfcadams though.

Earlier there was a comment about when we will be releasing an update. The problem with stating a date, is that we really don't know! It's like asking someone when he's going to blink next. :D He won't know until it's happening! We won't release the update until it is ready, and right now it isn't.
It's obvious that the chart that displays the special functions has been confusing, and so it should be updated by tomorrow to display better data. It will read "VD" or "Vehicle Dependent" under most special functions. Right now there is just a note under the chart that says this, but we're going to change that since it seems most people didn't see this.

I think it would be much clearer if they just list the actual options that work with a Tacoma. How is the average Joe supposed to know which features will work with their vehicle? When we asked, we were given that big list. This is extremely poor marketing, or perhaps good if you're BD, since you'll make a fortune in restock fees :/

    Alright guys,
Went and talked to our repair guys/shipping guys.

We have not received this product. Furthermore, Bully Dog does not charge restocking fees, or fees for damaged packaging/missing parts. It's just not how we operate.
As I said, we have not received this tuner. I went and searched through all Toyota tuners that have been returned,(all 3 of them!) and none of them is this one.
Sometimes a tuner will be sent out with what we call a shipping error, or missing a piece. If this happens, you simply have to call in and we send you whatever was missing. We would never not accept or not reimburse someone for missing pretty much anything, other than the tuner itself. That we might not like. :p
Damaged packaging? Big deal. We don't sell used GT's anyways. Not our style.

So, Bully Dog has nothing to do with what has been going on. However, we are in touch with Tap auto and we're getting it worked out.
    Thanks

I know I don't have a dog in this race YET but you have one group saying BD got it and says "blah blah blah".......
Then you have BD saying they don't have it........

Anyone else catch this? Makes you wonder........ All Im gonna say on the matter.
Im not picking on anybody or picking sides, but am very interested to see how this turns out so I know who to or not to order from.

From what I have been told and from what I understand so far, it is supposedly BullyDog that is saying no return without a restocking fee, etc. At least that is what I have been led to believe by TAP Auto Parts. Something VERY fishy is going on here...

This. If it were a comoletely universal deal like a scangauge I could see it. But they are developing a specialize d product for a tacoma and the universal aspect should be left out when its lited for a tacoma, since they know what works and what doesnt they should post correct and non misleading info.
As for BD you should drop your affiliation wuth TAP if the have been causing this problem.

The way I see it either one or both are having issues and if BD has no fault then dont risk it again with the vendor. There are plenty of other vendor's.

Sfcadams I woukd take this quote from bdwesly and show it into TAP and PayPal along with your conflicting emails from TAP, but forst I would call BD direct and verify on thier fees. If it matches then throw TAP to the hounds and hopefully BD will do the same.

Man, I'm glad I found this thread before I just called and ordered one. Both company's need to get their act together here. No dought the part has terrible marketing and both seem to have terrible customer service. This is the great thing about these forums! Unless your one of those vendors....

Yes, as I mentioned a bit earlier that whole chart will be changed as of tomorrow. The problem is that all the features will work on certain trucks. Say your truck has automatic windows and the feature isn't working. It's not the tuner, it's because the truck has different hardware than that which is compatible with the Bully Dog tuner. I know that sounds super confusing, but without knowing every single Tundra/Tacoma's vin number, we can't say for certain which features will work and which won't. That is why we will be changing the chart you're referring to.

Feel free to quote me, and feel free to call us tomorrow. We're closed right now though since it's a little past midnight here in Idaho. :D
This is a public forum, and so anything said is public info and up for grabs.

I understand, and have no problems with certain things being listed as vehicle dependent etc, but unless ONE of the trucks has had the option and its worked then it shouldn't be on the list. Like sunroof.

Like your saying, if the auto lock on park feature worked on your test truck with an AUTO, and it said vehicle dependent that would make perfect sense because its not going to work on the manual.

I am glad that you are trying to help, and i realize this forum is on your off time. Also im not directing the negativity towards you, unless your responsible :) lol.

The sunroof thing is obvious, nobody should expect a sunroof that doesn't exist to work. But its also a perfect example, nobody HAS a factory sunroof.

Anybody can copy and past a list of features etc (chinese company's do it all the time), but when its done that way and its presented as basically completely universal, with the implied purpose being very specific then it just comes across as doo-doo marketing, and sure instills a feeling of doubt to potential buyer's. Like myself.

One of the reasons I have liked working with Bully Dog over the years, is that
they always put the customer first. Offering a 30-Day Customer Satisfaction
Return Policy for a full refund is a rarity in this industry and often is extended
beyond to take care of the customer.

That is why I knew something would happen to take care of sfcadams.

When sfcadams received the Return Authorization number, it was with this
same dedication to customer service and product support.

Unfortunately, things went sideways when the return was received. There
was confusion and changing information that would frustrate anyone. However,
the focus on the customer was never lost and an effort to correct the
    situation was never abandon.

During this whole process, every effort was made to keep sfcadams informed
    of what was going.

As a result of continuing to work on a solution that was best for sfcadams,
we were able to get all the confusion resolved and the customer taken care
    of properly.

This definitely took longer that it should have, and was more complicated
than it had to be, and for that TAP Auto Parts apologizes.

Bully Dog is a great company that puts its customers first and it’s why we
have supported their products and services over the years. This focus on
customer first will not change for either of us. No matter how confusing or
    complicated the situation may be.

    Sincerely,

    Richard Rowe
    Customer Support
    TAP Auto Parts

Sort of. I am now being offered a refund, minus the original $9.50 shipping fee (which I thought was part of the original cost of the tuner). My only issue with that is I had to pay to return the damn thing ($9.50) to them. Now I have to eat another $9.50? In the end I will be out $19 and have nothing but a bad experience to show for it.....
