When I first turn my truck on, my fog lights will turn on (I leave them on all the time). After driving for a while, the fogs turn off all on their own. Not a fuse. I just had my truck serviced and looked on the receipt which showed they did the spiral cable recall service. Could that be relevant? I had not noticed the fogs cutting out before I had the service done. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated!

I had the spiral cable replaced too.... It did not affect my fogs tho.

Jiggle the wires, maybe u have a bad connection and they are acting up when they jostle around.

I checked all the connections and fuses. I seriously have no idea what's going on

I would buy new bulbs, then check the switch, then I'd redo the fog anytime mod. Process of elimination after simple wire and fuse checks.

Have u replaced ANY bulbs lately, or messed with wiring in anyway?

x2. i had mine fixed.(they just did it, come out and told me when they told me the truck was ready) I had them go over stuff before a road trip.

also i leave mine on all the time. If my head lights are on my fogs are as well. I’m on back road to much to turn them on and off all the time.

Maybe your truck is telling you it isn't cool to leave your fog lights on all the time.

Replaced the turn signal bulbs and did a relay mod to run the hi and low beams at the same time but I don't think either should screw up the fogs.
And I've had the fog anytime for a LONG time. I don't see how anything could change  But I'll go undo the hi/low beam mod just in case

Same thing with me only I was getting an oil leak fixed (woke up with a puddle of oil in my parking spot...and I park in gravel. That was a lot of oil...)
Got the receipt back and said they performed the fix for the recall

But it is soo cool

Went out and tried a new relay (one that hadn't been modified for the fog anytime mod) and the fogs worked. Figured it was the fog anytime mod that got me so I redid that and everything's back to normal! :D
I still have no idea what went wrong though...

    And thank you to everyone!

    Good times.

I haven't done the fog anytime for a few months since cayucos Tacoma was here.....

I would suspect the hi and low mod plus fogs may have tripped something up. Did u run the high and low beams at the same time with the fogs very often?

Hi/lo/fog was only on together for a total of about 15 seconds. I don't think that would really trip things up much. If it wouldn't trip in 15 seconds, why after?

Dunno...... Just a guess. Many have done the fog anytime with no issue, so just process of elimination again. Keep it as is, and if it acts up again, try undoing the hi/low mod.... I'd like to see how u did it to be honest... The hi/low same time mod.

I'd also be curious what else is tied to that relay from the factory.

Just seems like if it was acting up and wasn't a connection, maybe something was overheating?

Shots in the dark here, nothing more

Maybe the dealership messed with it while under your hood, and didn't tell you. that's my only reasonable explanation. no problem before service and after the service you get a problem, most likely its not a coincidence. I got my truck serviced one time while it was at 15k and it was just a simple oil and rotate tires service, and they managed to mess that up. I rolled out the dealership with massive noise coming form the wheels.. it turned out they put weights on my rims where my brake calibers would hit them.. I would think they would notice as they drive the truck out of the shop unto the parking lot... I now do all services my self.. unless it gets to do with timing belts.. lol

This could be the case. They unplugged my blue sea fuse block as "it was causing issues during their testing"..

I took it in for an oil change.....
