WTF? I have to stop eating salami so I can give it to her? Makes no sense. Plus I eat tons of broccoli, so that offsets everything.
Oooh, that reminds me of the Sliver Canyon road in the White Mountains across from the Sierras near Bishop. Only it was downhill, too, and I was in 1st low for a lot of it. I just started giggling at the insanity after a while. Put it this way: bighorn sheep love the area...

Start at minute 24 for a real sense of the grade and constant fear of losing traction headed downhill. Not that massively bermed switchback before the "big turn."

Funny story, my boss called the company rep out today to ask him a few questions (three ply girder truss sticks above the roof plane by 3/4"). Well he was there my boss pointed out one section of roof and asked him how we are supposed to frame it so that it meets code. He didn't know what to say lol

Is that the same guy who was called out before and didn't have an answer?

    How's it going B?

Ya brought out the lil hipster douchebag designer guy to take a look at his work and asked him the questions. He didn't know anything either lol

Tired, lots of up and down today since my labourer has decided he's 'sick' the last two days after a 3 day long weekend

I really want to fire his ass, I'm so tired of his shit

plane down the top chords of the girder by 3/4" :notsure:
sheath the entire roof with 3/4" ply and just butt it to the face of the girder :notsure:

Structural girder so we wanted to have paperwork showing we got approval to cut a diagonal section off the top of the one cord. The company we are building for uses the cheapest of the cheap osb, they don't even know what plywood is lol

don't be dissing OSB now

Is it the designer to blame or the truss builders? Are they being told what a shitty job they're doing?
I have to re-draw trusses in my drawings a lot of the time if we're supplying the gable walls and the walls have to match to the bottom of the outlookers. I use the truss diagrams that the manufacturer supplies and they are always dead on. If they're wrong its got to be a building issue.

Damnit...I just broke a nail typing this message

Good. My posts got deleted. They admittedly contained very little Christmas cheer.

Those few are doing a very effective job. I am not wasting my time, money, and energy on those clowns.

Looks like its a designer issue, trusses were built to spec as per drawings, layout is done as per spec.

 No worries Susan, I'm glad a mod stepped in and cleaned things up - it needed to happen. I got pissed at the prevoius posts and made a few crass ones of my own.

I for sure didn't want to ruin it for all, just wanted to opt out and let folks know they were being immature idiots.

    :smack: not nice!!!
