Has anyone else noticed that the roof handles in the rear passenger seats are poorly placed? Anyone over around 5'9" will smack their head on the hard plastic handle getting in and out, or when you go over a large bump. I don't think toyota put much thought into these because if they did they would have put soft handles in.

I don't think they have any one over 5'9" to test their vehicles. I know the motorcycles from over there have never been tested fitted for any one over 5'9"

It just doesn't make sense, because a lot of males are around 6ft and people are constantly hitting their heads.

I think this thread needs a poll for how tall the average owner is. We can forward the results on to the powers that be.

Chipskip is my coworker. He is over 6ft. Me on the other hand I'm 5'4" so its a non issue. I can also fit in every high end sports car and racecar lol but too short for most dual sport bikes.

this. I think this is why the pedals are so small/close together too. If I drive home in my uniform boots I tend to occasionally hit both pedals.

and this is probably the issue with that damn rearview mirror. My wife never had a problem with it. I still do even with the bracket mod.

I'm 6' 2" and have never had any kind of issue hitting my head getting in and out of my tacoma or the passenger seat in my friends taco. Sounds like a personal problem

My taco is actually the first vehicle I've owned that I fit in very comfortably, like its made for taller people.

People care about passenger comfort in the back seat? Chances are if you are over 6 ft banging your head on the oh shit handle while entering the vehicle is the least of your problems in the back seat of a Tacoma lol:cool:

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Never had any problems, but I'm a 5'7" midget.

But the location is actually perfect for my needs. I took a 4 foot length of 1" rope, attached it to the handle with a bowline, put a few overhand knots further down, and it lets my 5 y/o daughter climb in and swing out with ease! :D To get it out of the way, the rope sits snugly in the coat hook above and behind the headrest.

About the only thing Toyota did right on these trucks.

    interesting
    fact
just because the truck is from a jap manufacter doesnt mean they did R&D there i mean shit buick is an "american" car and yet its developed it china FOR the chinese. the Tundra was designed in cali and made in texas. they probably just didnt think spend that much time on researching for the placement of the handle. and if you think about it our cabs aren't that tall
