What should I get I have 265 70 16 Nitto Terra Grapplers can I go to 285 75 16 without adding a lift lit immediately? I think I am going to do the BFG ATs or the Muds. I am on a really tight budget so I can't afford to do a full suspension lift right now or I would.

265 is about the max, 285 and you will probably have rubbing problems without lifting....others will chime in to help verify...

My 265/75/16 BFG AT's rub the frame with no lift and stock steel wheels. No bumper rub for normal driving, but they will rub when stuffed. Pinch weld had to be trimmed. I'm on the fence about going to 285's or sticking with the 265's.

Get a leveling kit and you should be fine. Cheaper than a lift

If ur on a tight budget, compare tires too.

Bfg a/t aren't cheap, and they certainly aren't the best tires for the money.

To compound the problem, being on a tight budget I wouldn't run any mud tire unless u actually do a lot of mudding. The compound is soft and will wear faster generally than an a/t.

If u just want a mudder look, check prices on duratracs or wrangler authority a/t.... Mud looks, a/t compound. Watch the load ranges too.... If u don't need super tough tires, then go to a load range C.... The higher u go, the more they weigh, the worse mpg, the more ur budget will decrease for further mods and life in general..... Plus the ride comfort.

Ymmv, those were just my ideas and take em or leave em, its it truck and ur money so feel free to do asnu see fit.

Thanks everyone for the help. i am not dead set on BFGs and my nittos held up for 70,000 with only one rotation but my friends say ill get more miles out of the BFGs if rotated properly this time. Do you guys have any recommendations on what leveling kit to buy?

    Bone stock. For now.
I skipped the leveling kit this round and ordered some Bilstein 5100 front struts. Very happy with my decision!
