 Once again you folks have convinced me to ignore the Christmas Gift Exchange Thread. :(

Know anybody you can hire on? Might be worth a discard and draw from the deck? :notsure:

 More media hype ... Giving up bacon is just wrong ... don't do it. :D

So my neighbor (neighbour) from across the street comes over to ask me about changing out the rear diff fluid in his 1999 Ford Expedition. He's doing rear brakes and I guess when I did mine last weekend he got to thinking about it. I go over and have a look...find the fill plug, but there's no drain plug. WTH???? Go google it...have to remove the whole cover pan off the rear of the diff. 9 bolts, gasket, sealer, clean and scrape before reinstall  Why does Ford make routine maintenance so difficult.

Did I say "I Love My Toyota!" :D

    Rob

The gift exchange has been good before... You can still get in on it.... just wait and see if it stays clean :notsure:

Glad the Tacoma is so much easier... :D

:) On your recommendation I will monitor and not yet totally discard the idea. It does sound like fun; something neat to add to the spirit of the season.

    Thanks Susan.

:notsure: Don't know if she's going by after work today or not. Probably depends on how her day went. We might go together this weekend (we still have Sun/Mon off together). It may have been a tactical error taking the grands along last Sunday...they can be a little distracting. ;) But a distraction I will always welcome. :)

The current one is still functional but wearing out ... so we have time for her to shop around. She probably wants my opinion ... my opinion is I want the one she wants ... but I can't just say that.

Understand. Friend of mine just completed SNCOA in July. Said the politics have really gotten bad. He was well on his way to Chief .... came outta SNCOA saying he's giving 'em the two years for sewing on Senior, doing the best he can to take care of his people for those two years, and will retire. :(

I pretty much "raised" him from Staff and wrote the STEP package that got him promoted to Master 6 months before I retired. So I probably shouldn't be surprised ... I never was real good at the politics ... tried to let him learn from my mistakes. Personal Integrity won't let some folks play the game ... I'm proud of him. But I really wanted to see him make Chief. :frusty:

But hey, Peterson should be pretty that time of year. You can trade rain for snow! :)

There's lots of people looking for work but no one trying to find it. We tried another guy but he was too slow and didn't quite know what was going on. I need to find someone I can push who can work as fast as me or faster and is willing to go somewhere in life. This kid now is a high school drop out, has a kid on the way and just bought a house but he's got no drive to do things better or try faster.

hehe climate controlled - can't say as I blame him, but I worked outside ~ 20 years.
