Hey guys and girls I got and offer to buy a 1994 extended cab Tacoma truck with a ceased engine for 400 dollars. He said the frame and body have around 100000 on it with a small blemish above the left rear tire. Other than that he said its real solid. Going to look at it this weekend. Really geared up about it but want some expert advice from you guys :). Let me hear your opinions, thanks.

Where do you live? Would rust be an issue?

No pics yet but I will soon, he thinks he spun a bearing. He pulled the pan I guess but didn't go any further. He told me he loaded it on a trailer and parked it that was the last time he had it running...he said rust wasn't an issue. But I have yet to see it and I live in VT trucks in Nh

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I bought a $400 truck with a seized motor then bought a $400 junk yard motor with a 30 day guarantee. It was one of the best trucks I've ever owned.

you could almost get that for scrapping it. If you want a project I'd go for it at that price. Find a 5vz for it.

5vz is the v6 engine in 1st gen tacoma's. I would go for it just to throw money into it as a project truck :)

That truck either has a 22re (4 cylinder) or the POS 3.0 V6. The 3.4L V6 (5VZ) in the first gens is awesome and easy to swap into the old pickups.

Truck fell through guys, little more work needed then I expected. Missing a lot more essential parts then I'd hoped for. Frame was good but where the spare tire went was in need of attention. Stuff like hood hinge brackets, the grill, tail lights and a lot of other small details were gone also. Oh well worth a shot...the search goes on.

Just heard back from the kid with the truck he said 300 now and he would trailer it here. I'm so mulling this over and can't decided what to do. Problem is I am building a garage next spring, have two young boys and a very busy wife. Can't figure out how long it will take me to get this thing on the road lol. Decisions decisions....maybe tell him I will give him 200 for it? See what he says I don't know at you guys think.

Do you hardcore wheel? Rock crawl? Desert race? If so this sounds like the perfect candidate for a full build. Plus its damn cheap.

I've spent more than 200 bucks on far less!

As long as its not rotted out, I'd say do it.

The only tender spot is where the spare tire went. Other than that it's decent. I want to just put an engine I it and run it into the ground. But it needs to be taken down and gone right through. Which doesn't bother me to do its just finding the time to do it
