You know it, thanks! I took my seats out of the car, you can leave them in but it's WAY more of a pain in the ass. The TW group buy had it so it comes with either a free console cover or cleaning kit, but since I have a 1999 Tacoma and a 2001-2004 Console, they made me choose the cleaning kit for free & I had to purchase the console cover separately.

Yeah they do, and they're soooo much more comfortable... surprisingly so

I was going to put mine there but I couldn't hear it very well from there. But your speaker isn't in the mic so that won't be a problem for you.

That's basically the only place I can hang something without interfering with any of my other controls.. not to mention if I ever (for some reason) ended up hating that location or the screw holes left behind-- that dash piece is pretty easy to find on a junked Tacoma

Yeah, that got old pretty quick when it'd fall on the floor or between the seat/center console without me realizing it

I leave mine on the back of the shifter boot most of the time. And, like Ben, on my lap when I'm really using it on wheeling trips.

Hmm. I'll run it with velcro tape like this and see if I want to drill holes in my dash-- I don't think it looks too bad without a mic in it though:

Hey what version of OTRATTW switches did you get? As in dependent vs. independent lights on them. The ones I ordered will have the symbol on top light up when I turn it on, and the text on the bottom always on with the truck on. I'm trying to figure out where to tap into to get those lights to be on all the time.

I just leave my cb mic in the center console when I'm not using it. Mine doesn't work anymore though, I think I may have burnt it out.... SWR meters read at 3 no matter what if I have coax and antenna plugged in or nothing plugged in.

I really don't remember, I would recommend giving the guys at OTRATTW a call-- they usually answer, and if not just wait and hour and give them a call back. They've answer any and all questions that I had in the past when buying my 2 switches.

I only have mine wired to have the switch lights come on when the switch is flipped ON. I didn't wanna mess with tapping into my dimmer switch so I figured this is good enough for the likes of me

Yeah that's what I'll be doing when I'm not using it too. Uh oh... you can't tune it at all close to a 1:1 signal with a SWR meter?

Nope, I've hooked up two different swr meters to it. It worked for a little while up to about 15 yards then slowly stopped working. The swr meter reads 3 no matter what even with no coax hooked into the radio. So you can't even tune anything.

Were you transmitting with no antenna hooked up? That's a quick way to fry a radio. If not, make sure the SWR meter is functioning properly. I've tried tuning one before and had a hell of a time before realizing the SWR meters battery was dead.

Ah, ok. Well I might just splice into the cigarette lighter hot wire and call it a day lol.

We attempted tuning it with everything hooked up, then with different coax, then a different antenna. We started trimming the antenna to see if it would make a difference, but everything we did it still read right on 3. Unplugged everything from it and still read 3. Maybe I did fry it. I plan to go buy a cheap cb and see if it gets a different reading at all. If it does then I know I fried my original cb.

When you get to that point and if you need help figuring out what wires to connect to the back of the OTRATTW switches I can take my dash apart and see what I wired to where in the back of mine

Maybe try swapping CBs with someone else who's willing to take their dash apart and see if that works, then you know everything is working correctly except your CB unit

Haha I'm not going to hassle them with that, I'll just go buy a cheap one from walmart. And if it works I'll take it back and return it, and I'll know that I fried my first cb and wasted $60....

Haha yup, although I won't have any use for a cb up in Missouri. Nobody to trail ride with... :(

My truck's going to be a wannabe trail rig when I get back...
