Strange problems here. Mines a 09 with the stock head unit. No mods to the system. When I plug my Ipod into the aux it works fine until I slow the vehicle to a stoplight. Then the volume is cut almost in half. Once I start moving the volume kicks back up. It only does it when in Aux mode.

The volume is supposed to fluctuate with the road noise. It is a 'feature' of the trucks sound system, as my saleperson told me at time of sale. I suspect it is covered in the manual and quite possibly has a mode to disengage the feature, though don't quote me on that.

Push in your Tuner knob until is says "ASL". Then turn the knob until it says "ASL OFF" Now its disabled.
Each option has its own setting (AUX, FM1, FM2, CD......)
So you will need to go into AUX first before you turn it off.

    Hope this helps.

Nice tip!! Our corvette does the same thing - it's a neat feature.

I have an 07 and curious to know if I have similar settings. I'll play with it and see.....Not that I'd need to change anything.

It doesn't just change the volume, it changes the EQ as well. I figured this out in the first day of driving. It increases the bass to the point that it will blow up your speakers if you aren't careful. I turned mine off to make it livable for the time being while I have the stock system in the car.
