Get out the sawzall and do it. They bolt right up after that. Glass fenders help.

Oh you won't need the lift, just a sawzall. Mine sits lower than a stock TRD.

The procomps are ok, you have to run a 1/2" spacer in the front to keep them off the brakes though. The tires themselves are pretty tough to balance. I used 2500 airsoft bb's per tire. It works better than lead weights. I think my next set of tires will be the military BFG baja's mostly because I hear they balance better.

@username, What brake upgrades did you do to stop those heavy heavy tires?

Goodrich stainless brake lines, powerstop drilled and slotted rotors, and Porterfield Racing carbon kevlar pads. It will squall the tires at highway speeds no problemo. (I don't have ABS anymore)

    The tires are that heavy?
I'm assuming they can't be to much heavier then my 18" rims with 35's

military tires are usually thicker and thus a heavier tire

146 lbs per corner with the recentered hummer wheels. They are thicker, you can run them at zero PSI down the highway (it's a little squishy in the corners). They are very tough. Someone told me they were bulletproof and I called bullshit and shot the sidewall with a 9mm. The bullet came back and hit me in the foot. I had steel toe boots on and that's the only thing that saved my toes. They might pop with a bigger round, but I'm not going to try it.

they were not bullet proof in iraq lol..

the BFG Baja tires are pretty awesome. Thats what i plan to run on hummer locks on my 79

7.62x39 AP is probably better at poking holes in stuff than a 9.
Yeah I like the grooved BFG's. Going to be ordering a set soon, might just groove them myself.

Those are the ones, and it must have been lucky.. or in the right place, ive seen them shot out with 9mm..

Talking about the goodyear ones, i have never seen anything worse than a slow leak on the BFG Baja yet

I believe you, granted it was 110 degrees or so in iraq and they shot the sidewall, also have zero idea what kind of ammo. So have no idea what the effects of differences were.

I would bet its a tough feet for any 9mm or really non hardcast or magnum handgun round. Those things are thick rubber.

Also ive seen the 7.62x54r round tear through both sides of the tire, clip the rim go through the back window (spare tire) and take out the bad guy on a landcruiser.. That iraqi was a killer shot, glad he was a "good" or at least, good at the moment guy.
