The 4 quarts of tranny fluid is most likely from a drain & check procedure on the tranny which requires just over 3 qts.

Owned 5 Toyota trucks and just joined to post this??? You should definitely sell your 07 Tacoma because you can't afford to fix the stuff you break on it. Don't the let the door hit you in the.....

I don't see how any of the problems in the OP were Toyotas fault at all.

As for the trans, I assume there's something missing..... Did they do a trans drain and fill which is why u got charged for the trans fluid?

 

I often find an online price and give my stealership the opportunity to match it. Balls in their court - and often they have.

 

I work for an Infiniti dealership.

Mirrors on our cars generally run $1000+ some almost $1800

The long plastic 2" piece under the front bumper. 'Air chin spoiler" retails over $600, Infiniti charges the dealer $400+ for the part.

When i blew up the 2008, i figured i would ask Toyota what a new 2tr-fe 2.7 4cyl longblock costs...

Let me tell you, i literaly thought about insurance fraud.

 

Toyota wanted $10700, yes you read that correct ten thousand seven hundred dollars. This is JUST the longblock. Also, bottom end was $2700 or so.

This was before there were any rebuild kits available, i called LCE and they said "we have never heard of one breaking, we have a number on the lot over 150k"

Then i found one with 40k on craigs list for $500 bucks, and picked it up same day.

That is a heavy 4cyl engine. The swap was easy, so many plugs vs a 22r and twice the work.

 

^also this is a no labor cost. I was dumbfounded.

 

My buddy he dad got one, and that POS cub spend more time in the shop than in their garage or mowing. from electrical problems to drive belt problems and all kinds of other problems!

I am not too sure about that, I just had my road bike "tuned up" and it was just over $1k. A kid clipped my rear wheel and bent it beyond repair.

And if you think Toyota parts are expensive, try buying parts for a BMW or Mercedes

 

Merc parts all have chinese copys.

Now audi and BMW.. $$$

An those bikes are awesome.. Walmart bikes are cheap to repair.. the whole things only $80

 

One of the wheels on those Walmart bikes probably weighs more than my entire bike........

only a win on pure cost. Realy i would walk untill i could save up $600 and actualy buy an entry level bike from a real company before a walmart bike.

 

I dont mind paying for what i break, but $10700 for a 4cyl!?! I would rather part the truck out and buy a brand new 4cyl tacoma for 23k than that.

some toyota parts are ridiculous others really aren't too bad

 

for that price I would have done a D4D swap I mean 10k for an engine is ridiculous. I mean you can go get a ford 5.0 crate engine for 7k... Think about stuffing one of those babies under the hood.

Yea, i was completely shocked when they said that, i was expecting 3-4k at the most.

 

i was going to do a 1uz swap because i loved the truck, but there was so much wrong with it and i thought i that i wanted the double cab. yada yada yada..

so now i have the 2013 v6 6spd and i love it
