    Question to other 09 Tacoma owners;

    Do you have a verbal (beep or alarm) low fuel notification on your truck? Do not know if these trucks came with one and mine is not working??:confused:

    The stupid yellow light at the fuel gauge just doesn't cut it, especially when on the road for a while. Thankfully I did not run out of gas (at least not yet..LOL)

    Thanks,
    Bob

    I have an '08 and I've never seen that light come on...

    Maybe it's my advanced pilot training- but driving until I have so little fuel left has never occurred to me. The dash is a pretty small area with very limited instrumentation to scan...Never had an issue with running out of fuel.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I had other vehicles that would have both a light and an alarm such as a beep or chime, and wondered if there was one on the Tacomas, but I guess not.

    Just the light.... I've never heard a beep in any vehicle when the light comes on.

    WOW, I guess it is that low? (I usually do not have the radio volume up loud)

    Will keep the radio off when the fuel runs low next time to try it out.

    Thanks.

    It is low.. lol....it's about as loud as the chime you get when you have the door open with the key in the ignition, but you only get one chime if that helps.

    I never, will I try not to run below a quarter tank but I would not mind a chime or a verbal "stupid" for when I get so low that the light would come on. Would not be a bad idea for all of the gauges.

    I have to agree. Seriously, the fact that there's no beep is a problem? I've never owned a vehicle that had a verbal warning and, SURPRISE, I've never run out of gas. That's being just a bit picky, no?

    They call them Idiot Lights for a reason, I have no idea what they would call a warning system to warn that Idiot that he is too stupid to fall in the Idiot category :rolleyes:

    Mine turns on and says "Hey idiot, you're almost out of gas" then when I finally ran out of gas it chimed on and said "Told you so!"

    Its the greatest mod ever!
