Or you bug Montreal for a couple of their defensive prospects, which they have an abundance, maybe try to acquire LeBlanc in the process as well, it's going to cost what a 2nd a third and maybe a third or second liner

I would make a move when the proper trade presents itself. Whether next week, in three months or next year. I just don't see that there is such a thing as a quick fix. Once you trade your valuable assets they are gone so it seems a little crazy to do it somewhat impulsively. I would be inclined to go after gritty character players who work hard, skate well and come at a low price, at least until the one player you covet comes back in the big trade(Be it a goalie or a D)
I look at what Calgary and Colorado are doing right now. They are clearly motivated and well coached. Players are playing to the top their potential, but for how long will they keep the pace?
Over 82 games, Edmonton is likely not as bad as their record shows and Colorado and Calgary are likely worse.

 

I guess I need to see the clip. I have never heard of a reverse hit. Perhaps John Shannon sees things we don't with the magic glass in his optical frames.

I agree he braces for the hit by leaning into the direction of the oncoming player who then hits him from behind into the boards from approx 6' away from the boards
