    When did you get the OEM roof rack?

    How much does something like that cost, and how much payload can it carry? I've been thinking about getting into quad/hex-copters to carry a camera and get some aerial landscape photos.

    this one should carry about 3kg.... total build cost is around 1500 without electronics... so add another 500 for a decent flight controller and Tx/Rx.

    The most popular is the DJI phantom which is ready to fly at just under 500 bucks... add your own GP3 and you're good to go...

    then you can spend thousands on upgrades and add things like FPV video, gimbals, upgraded motors, etc.
