bump, no one wants to step to to 35s

 

Came across this on an East Valley facebook forum. Seems like a crazy deal! He is name is Lowell and he is at Big2 Toyota on 202 and Gilbert. His cell number is 480-329-1877. Shoot him a call if you are interested. It is apparently 6' long and according to my research should fit up to 2004 trucks.

haha its actually a lot easier to fit a 35 than you would think, just gotta be willing to do plenty of trimming. ask Pat lol

 

I don't mind trimming. What about the firewall?

 

I know real off-roaders check in here, so let me ask: Who would you reccomend for installing ARB locked in my Tacoma? and who would you suggest if I wanted to swap gear ratios and ARB locker at the same time? I know East Coast Gear Supply can build up my carriers and ship them back, but is there a trusted differential wizzard in Phoenix area, or at least So. Cal.?

 

Just remember if you gear the rear, youve got to gear the front with 4x4.
I still am sticking with my opinion here Bill, you are only going to a 33 then its really not needed until 35s. As for locking the front and rear with an ARB and adding some air tanks, now that is just truck pron.

So if I stick with the stock 3.73 gears and add ARB locker (or two, just so Jon can salivate!) is this as involved as a gear swap? Reason I ask is I have seen inexperienced gear swaps turn to shit more times than I can count on cars and trucks. Preload and gear mesh have to be checked and have to be right or you will be back in that axle in a couple months and it will cost a bundle if you ruin the carrier or housing.

 

Not as bad as everyone thinks it is to stuff 35's

 

Anybody have a set of 2nd gen SR5 or TRD Sport coils they want to get rid of?

Flatten the pinch weld and a healthy cab mount chop and you're basically good to go. If you have a uniball upper arm you can add a little more caster to your alignment to pull the wheel slightly forward in the wheel well and your done. I'm putting 37s on mine

 

Damn didn't even notice they are 17's. I have to get rims too!? Don't tempt me man, 35's would be awesome

a gear swap and a locker are just as involved, mise well regear while your in there. you will regret it if you dont.
i runn 4.88s and 33s and i love it

 

Not to mention the diff seals gotta be done right as well. I've seen a couple of builds on here lately that have had leaking diffs after a gear swap.
