Did he go dry sump? All I can think of is smashed oil pan.

 

He made a 1/4" skid for it. Its also on 27" general a/ts and a little bit of a lift

 

I got it because they are nice cars.

Swap in an S50 series engine, koni yellows all around, Ireland Engineering springs and enjoy.

Or skip the engine swap and slap a big turbo on the stock M20.

My next kraut pile will probably be an e28 or e34 5 series.

Did you guys ever get that Beesh running right? Last time I saw it was when we changed the oil/changed plugs.

 

Yes and no. We got it running that night, I think that's when this pic was taken. Then the radiator broke, pretty sure the gas tank leaks now and something else broke. Can't remember, been working since 7am and its 2am, still working.. Brain shot.

Lol, damn. I guess it sat for too long without any TLC. It is now venting it's displeasure...

 

My older brother is a BMW tech. He has always said that the E34 is one of the most reliable vehicles BMW has ever made. Damn bullet proof with a good engine/tranny combo.

 

There were 5 different engines and probably 10 different transmissions offered in that chassis for the USA market. Not all of them were good, I've heard many horror stories about some of the earlier V8s.

However the 5 speed M50 powered 525i I had was a fantastic car. Super reliable, nice handling, and really easy to work on when it did need work.

I really want another one of those but the classic styling of the e28 just speaks to me. The real bitch is finding either with a manual transmission.
