Nope. 6th gear all the way. Only time I down shift is on the tall steep hills that drop my speedo about 3 miles. The worst was on flat ground. I'm thinking the ECU needs reprograming or the fuel injectors aren't closing up at cruse speed. When I was in CO. I was being pushed by the wind and I got 13.02 MPG on that tank.

ECUs can't be reprogrammed really..and i doubt its the injectors, you'd smell it.

I never had a loss with head winds here, well unless its a 20+ MPH head wind. That's why I like the 4.0.

TTORA is a lot like pirate, bunch of good tech, some not so good tech, some great guys, a lot of combative douchenozzles who don't know their heads from their asses but proceed to tell you how it is anyway.

TW is more friendly for sure, and a lot less guys like that.

From what I read on here is that people get less MPG then it goes up about 5000 miles. I'm getting the hybrid gas mileage. Better in town than on highway.

Interesting... I pull about 17 mpg hwy and about 12 mpg in town, but I am heavy footed... I imagine that would go up to about 14-15 mpg if I got my foot out of it.

What does your in town driving consist of, steady cruising at about 35-45 with very few stops? Most vehicles get the best fuel economy at 35-45 mph. Hypermilers do this all the time and can take cars with 30mpg EPA ratings and get 60+mpg out of them. Stopping and starting again is what is hardest on the fuel economy and why city is typically lower than hwy.

The next question is what does your hwy consist of? The faster you go the less mileage you get because you have to push more air out of your way. My little beat Hyundai Accent pulls about 40 mpg cruising on the freeway at 75 mph. When I slow down to 55 mph though, I can pull 55 mpg in it though. That is an extreme case since the little motor in the car has a hard time pushing that wind though. In my Tacoma I typically gain about 3-5mpg by slowing down to 55 mph from 75 mph.

Basically if you city driving doesn't involve much stopping, and you are doing 85+mph everywhere you go on the freeway that is why your city is higher than your hwy.

yea i think gears and a rear locker would be a much better investment. 4.88s and the 32s will suck though for a while. But if your for sure going 35s, get the 4.88s.

Also keep in mind you'll need OBA or CO2 to run the lockers. I'd be happy to help install diffs for you too if you need help.

But yes, would take you much further offroad then a supercharger will. SC just has major cool factor :p haha but can always be added later. Even a crawl box before it might be a good idea.

as for bumper, also depends on a few things..

a preunner style is like the skid and bumper are pretty much connected. Basiclly, all custom. but works great since it help protect you when you bottom out. most do not have winch mounts and a tucked up as tight as possible.

tube will be lighter then plate. but not by a ton..

I haven't seen Pelfreys prerunner bumper yet..but if i had to change bumpers right now for LT id do a hybrid personally. Keeps a winch mount and good protection, but bit lighter weight. Bruteforce hybrid would be my choice but thats pretty much the only choice for a hybrid 1st gen bumper.

A "normal" bumper instead of a custom prerunner one will also allow support for any aftermarket set of skids.

But before all that i have to ask this and it'll help you decide.

are you going FULL OUT LT. Like i mean..triple front bypasses and rear triple bypasses. full 3.5'' over kit..gusseted everything..engine cage and roll cage..

    OR

Are you gonna do like..a 2+ kit..only CO up front..nice big rear shocks with a SUA setup but nothing dastic, keep the truck a bit narrower, and still do mostly trail/crawlign stuff with the occasional mobbing. Basically more of an "all arounder".

If its more option A...go for a prerunner

Option B more...id do a Hybrid or even Plate.

haha yea..its only money :p haha can always change it..well..probably not after Option A...but Option B means you can grow into it later if ya want..

Id go hybrid. Cause all that stuff...will EASILY sell later too.

I kinda wish my dbl cab had decent suspention..id probably just put both Elite bumpers on it right now and build my own at this point. Gonna have to mod the front one to fit 35s and mod the rear if i want it to work with rear glass bed sides.

 Sounds like a plan man. Shouldn't take long really. Full day probably.

You'll have to change the oil again yourself in laramie after 5000 miles i believe.

also, doing ARB compressor too? Which one?
