    Mix grip is totally amazing when you want to work that muscle... but you lose out on the grip strength

    Awesome. Saving that one.

    Using the straps isn't going to help your grip, so why use them? Chalk should be all you need. I know most gyms don't allow it, but that's why you get liquid chalk. Looks like hand sanitizer. Shit works too. I have no issue holding onto the bar. I've used this stuff at five different gyms, all with "no chalk" rules. Never once has it been an issue. Leaves no mess.

    Straps and gloves? No.
    Chalk, tacky, and a belt for anything over 500#. Other than that there's this stuff out there called M.A.N.U.P Simply take one pill a day. Results to follow. ;)

    straps have more use than for grip though

    I don't agree. A lot of people always talk about better back and shoulder isolation when using straps. It's all about your mind to muscle connection that creates better isolation.

    i totally agree but your back lift much more weight than your arms can. So when your arms have reached failure, strap on the weight then keep lifting

    Another debatable theory. I was coached to train without the aid of assistance straps. If your grip failed, you worked harder to catch it up with what your back is pulling. And when your grip does fail, you grind out those sets. Which I believe makes you a better athlete. But there's an infinite amount of different training philosophies I'm just sharing mine and not saying it's the right and only way.

    Grip strength and calluses for days from turning wrenches and fabricating for the last 9 years.

    never had a need for chalk/gloves/grip aids/etc. :)

    I use chalk when i go climbing, but that's a different animal.
