    We (my squadron) didn't ever shut down. We're TWCF (Transportation Working Capital Fund) funded, not appropriated. They talked like we might have too a week into the shutdown, something about draining the fund down to where it wouldn't recover. But before it got to that, they funded all military (active duty and civilian). Somehow the on base finance folks managed to screw up our (my squadron civilians) pay...I got shorted 36 hours, supposed to get it back in my next check...we'll see. :rolleyes:

    Fog is better than snow I guess.

    Fortunately I can absorb a certain amount of this stuff... :( for the younger folks that don't have other resources. It does make you a little edgy though ... don't want to take large chunks of money out of the bank because you don't know if/when you'll have to fall back on it, or for how long. There has got to be a way for this country, by way of our elected representatives, to find some middle ground. :mad:

    Makes buying me SxS 6x6 difficult. :frusty:

    A lot of the national parks were opened through state funding during the shutdown. The loss of revenue, to the states, because of the shutdown was more than the states wanted to lose.

    Congrats Susan for the DIL.

    On a sour note I took a rock to the windshield of the Tacoma this afternoon. Should be fixed next Thursday.

    i think i jinxed myself...got a project with messed up trusses today. good news is that I just have to tell the contractor as a courtesy that I think his truss guy is an idiot and they need to take a closer look at the truss dimensions

    my windshield is a 50/50 mix of glass and epoxy at this point...still holding together though :laugh:
