Yeah, I was going to plastidip all of them. But after spending a lot of time going slow and painting the emblems correctly just to have the plastidip rip off of the SR5 emblems I said screw it. Looks cleaner without emblems anyways.

After this my whole truck will be black except for the cb antenna spring and lug nuts.

I'm probably going to leave those on and remove all of the other ones. All of the other emblems aren't as nice and don't have a good edge to allow you to tear away the plastidip from around the emblems.

The tailgate ones aren't hard plastic like the doors so I can see how they wouldn't take plastiderp well.

I've only derped the door emblems and SR5 emblems. The door emblems are pretty easy because they have a sharp edge against the paint allowing it to tear. All of the other emblems had an angled edge making it hard to pull the plastidip without pulling it off of the emblem.

I just did 5 light coats making sure to get it from all angles. Front, angled left, angled right, angled up, angled down. That's the best way to make sure you get a good coat on the emblems. You also want to make sure it is completely dry.

Why not elevate the emblems? Tooth picks in cardboard should do :notsure:

clean with rubbing alcohol, and i think the 2nd gen stick off the body/paint a little farther than the 1st gen do, i did not have any problems when pealing the PD off the paint.

Because they're still on the vehicle. That's why plastidipping emblems is so appealing since you don't have to go through the process of removing them.
Yup, I cleaned mine with acetone. The 2nd gen Tacoma emblems definitely stick out farther.

Except when I was outside this morning. Too cold on the sides of my head, a flight cap only covers so much... Haha
